Building Bonds of Trust

Dearest Friends,

Often we feel trapped in the fullness of our daily lives and neglect our bonds with loved ones. Many say they are too busy to socialize or plan activities that would develop bonds with others and texting and email have become the norm. We are losing our ability to communicate with one another and are going to find out we need each other.

The times we live in are difficult, and we will find ourselves needing to lean on and be of support to others. When we get to know a neighbor we often find we can forgive their foibles, love them and support them, and then are grateful for them when we are challenged.

Take the time to build and nurture your bonds with those in your life. Any time we open our heart greater to others, pray for others, uplift others—God is well pleased and we will find the reward of our efforts many times increased as we feel those ripples come back!

All my love, Betty

Something to Ponder

From the "Embraced By The Light: Prayers & Devotions for Daily Living,"
Entry for August 17th:

I Make Mistakes Because I Am Growing in Spirit

When we fall down, we need to get up, dust ourselves off, and get moving again. If we fall down again, even a million times, we still need to keep going; we’re growing more than we think. In the spirit world they don’t see sin as we do here. All experiences can be positive. All are learning experiences. Embraced By The Light - page 70

When I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the Lord shall be a light unto me. Micah 7:8

Father, thank you for being there to lift me up and strengthen me the many times when I have fallen and failed. And thank you for lighting my way when my life is dark and I have nothing but a sense of your love to keep me going. Bless me to internalize the knowledge that you love me unconditionally---no matter what! This understanding brings me the strength I need to pick myself up when I fall. Your love increases my desire to move ahead and make the changes my life needs.

Affirmation: With God’s help, my spirit finds growth in failure and strength in moving on again.
