So sorry to hear about the loss of your dog.
Personally, I believe that pets have souls. We know that when we look into a family dog's (or cat's, or bird's) eyes, that a wonderful spirit looks back! Further, I have met people who have met animal spirits. While wild animals have their own place to go, pets who are deeply bonded with their humans will be like us - we go to what we love most.
