Subject: lucid dreams

Are lucid dreams linked to our spirit or just an effect of our mind? To be more specific, I'm talking about those dreams when you fall asleep and you are still conscious all the time. You normally feel paralyzed because your body becomes paralized so dont it won't act out what your dream. I experienced that yesterday morning. However, there was something different. I felt not just paralyzed, but in a way I felt that I was trapped within my own body and I wanted to get out of my body to be free because I was not able to move my limbs. Then I felt something coming into my room just to watch me next to my bed. I did not feel fear or anything. i just felt annoyed by that "presence" especially because I could not see who it was since me being paralized, I could not open my eyes nor turn my head around to see who that was.
