Our Transformation Through Jesus Christ

       Dearest Friends,

As we near the close of another year I am grateful to our Heavenly Father for blessing us to join again in Celebration of our Savior's birth. What a gift of truth he brought of our Father's unconditional love for us all; a message delivered so long ago and yet is everlasting! Life is not easy, nor was it meant to be. We each face challenges in one way or another. However, to have faith and hope that our Creator is ever present—ever anxious to see us through—strengthens and blesses us when nothing else can.

Every year I find new meaning to Christmas and its expression of beauty. The lights of many colors add joy to my heart and bring remembrance of the beauty I saw in heaven. One need only watch snow fall over barren trees and watch the transformation that takes place. I have and it was a delight to my soul. The white snow in just minutes created a very different scene. The once brown and straggly dead branches and bushes now were gleaming white and mystical in appearance, truly a winter wonderland!

I thought of my mortal life and how, when it is complete, I too, will take on a new appearance, one of greater beauty, purity and love. The promise of Christ to make me whiter than snow is just that: a promise that he will keep!

Last night, I gazed through my window at the twinkling lights of my newly decorated tree, I could not help but notice the weloming warmth that drew me back inside to be with family that came to help. This is what Christmas means to me: it symbolically represents our transformation through Jesus Christ, just like the snow that covers weathered branches and muddy paths. It is about the renewal of life through the teaching of Jesus that brings eternal life with God. It means the love of family and friends and offers us opportunity to do the tiniest act of good for another that will ripple out and make a difference in yet many more lives. Christmas can be magical if we bring God's gift of Christ back into it. Let's never let go of our hope and faith. Let's always celebrate Christmas!

May God continue to bless your every need and surround you with his eternal love. He blesses all. He is in control of all. And all we need to do is let him in our lives and seek the guidance of his will. Like any good parent, he gives us our space to grow, but when we are down and out, his loving arms wait open to hold us. Let us bask in his eternal love always.

The Gift of a Grateful Heart
...finding gratitude even when it seems far away

      My Dearest Friends,

I'm extremely thankful to have a close and trusting relationship with my Heavenly Father; it comforts me when everything looks bleak. Even when struggling, I know he is still there though I may feel far away from him at the time. One of the ways I ensure this is to choose a grateful heart no matter what, just like I always choose to love—no matter what the day brings, love and gratitude are always what I choose and attempt to live up to. Grateful HeartNo matter how our human frailties or weaknesses may loom at the time, we can always choose to be grateful and we can always choose to love!

It may sound redundant and we all remember as children being told, "When you grow up, you'll understand…" Even so, the truth is this: When we leave this earth—we will have grown our own spirit; and we will understand the eternal value of our mortal struggles—all of them! And this is what I think about while I "grit my teeth" and go through whatever is troubling me. Hold on to your faith—especially when struggling!

Since my return from my NDE, I miss the wonders of heaven and the incomparable joy of being in the Savior's presence. I have seen great struggles and have spent many days literally walking through my house, usually while cleaning in an attempt to be useful, yet with all my heart seeking comfort and strength by thinking of things to be grateful for and whispering, "Thank you Lord for my health, for my physical strength and ability, thank you Lord for my family, I'm so grateful for all you give." Darkness is kept at bay while I think of things to be thankful for and soon my heart begins to swell with the magnificence of God's hand in my life.

“I also understood the importance of thanking God for the things we receive. Gratitude is an eternal virtue. In humility we must ask, and in gratitude we should receive. The more we thank God for the blessings we receive, the more we open the way for further blessings. His desire to bless us is full to overflowing. If we will open our hearts and minds to receive his blessings, we too will be filled to overflowing. We will know that he lives.” —Embraced By The Light - page 107

We must develop, nurture and expand our personal relationship with God. Leaning on the arm of flesh, whether it be a trusted friend, teacher or organized religion, if done without seeking a personal relationship with our Heavenly Father, is setting one's self up to fall because no matter the spiritual level of others, they are mortal and subject to human frailties and misinformation. We can use others temporarily to shore up our faith or lean on to help us through a difficult time, God wants us to help each other! However, in the end, it is God in whom we must rely on, lean on and trust as our ultimate source. Some of the difficult times we experience may be specifically designed to teach us and help us learn to hang on to our Father!

God has my personal blueprint for my life here on earth, he has yours too, and you can be sure his design is flawless, it is perfect! And just like you, I don't have a perfect knowledge of his plan for me and must go forward in faith from day to day. But that's okay, God knows my purpose so I don't have to, I just have to desire his will and hope to fulfill his purposes and hope to experience the joy that comes from serving him well. Hope floats! From one desire to another. To hope is to want something to happen or be true and think that it could happen—which brings in our imagination and imagination is the key to reality. Hope can float us through the darkness in our lives till we perceive and experience the warmth of God's light and love in our life once again...which we always will when we hold on to him! Hope and imagination help us create our reality.

Hang on to your connection with God. Strengthen it through study and prayer, nurture it through pondering his blessings and thanking him for his gifts frequently. Gratitude is part of the Universal Law of giving and receiving. Part of growing in our spiritual understanding and ability to love is by sharing what we have been given with others. This can be done by example as we gather our loved ones and talk about God's hand in our lives as well as express our thankfulness for his gifts. As we do, we invite further blessings and create ripples of love that will bless us, our families and all around us.

This election time has been a particularly difficult one and many have asked me for guidance. And perhaps this is a time for us to practice making difficult decisions. Weigh and measure everything—then follow your heart! Of course one cannot truly follow their heart without making God a part of their decision making process since he created our spirit and resides deep within each of our hearts. As a society, we are suffering the consequences of choices made over decades of focus on the world rather than on the things of God. Even so, it is never too late to turn to God! We, as a society, can and must turn to God to receive help from above . . . and each of us can do our part by following our heart, expressing our faith and trust in God and helping our loved ones do the same, creating loving ripples that will go out to all. It's never too late to turn to love and our Heavenly Father is always waiting to pour his blessings upon us as we turn to him and seek his guidance and will.

     Heavenly Father,

Bless each of us to feel your guidance and your Spirit in our hearts that we might strengthen our lives. We know that you lovingly watch over us always. Help us lean on you and trust your omniscient perspective and know that your will is always for our greatest good. Guide us in your everlasting, unconditional and purest love! During this time of the elections here in America, Father, bless us as citizens to understand our choices and have the ability to accept the consequences that our choices bring. Guide us through our awakening to your ways and to be able to help others do the same, that we might walk through this difficult time while leaning on you. Bless us to overcome our transgressions and replace self-centeredness with righteousness and bless our leadership, Heavenly Father, to exercise their influence in a way that will lift and foster your blessings and your will. I pray for each of us to recognize your hand in our lives, and remember to thank you for your gifts and blessings that lead us back home to you.

I pray these things in the precious name of your son, Jesus Christ, amen.

Draw Upon the Power of Heaven

I understood with pure knowledge that God wants us to become as he is, and that he has invested us with god-like qualities, such as the power of imagination and creation, free will, intelligence, and most of all, the power to love. I understood that he actually wants us to draw on the powers of heaven, and that by believing that we are capable of doing so, we can.—Embraced By The Light, page 61

      My Dearest Friends,

While in heaven, I was shown that we are sent to earth to become more like our Creator. God is the Father of our Spirit and in forming us in his likeness, he implanted his qualities within our spirit in embryo. Our mortal lives are the perfect opportunity to develop these traits, particularly our ability to love. Our Heavenly Father designed this world in such a way that it provides the perfect "school room" for us to learn and grow our spirit essence to become more like he is. As we suffer the opposition and its effects in our lives, we learn to discern positive from negative, we are strengthened spiritually and we gain wisdom through added understanding that enables us to make wise choices and learn to love.

Using the analogy of an airplane, it takes 4 forces for a plane to take off from the ground and achieve flight: 1—Weight, caused by Gravity; 2—Drag, caused by the friction of the air being pressed against; 3—Thrust, which is the force of the plane's engine; and 4—Lift, which is caused by the plane's wings. We might compare this to the forces that help our own spirit advance spiritually and learn to fly:

Gravity   Weight of daily living – The heaviness we feel when something is hard to bear. Our physical, mental, emotional and spiritual burdens.

Drag   Opposition – The adversary, negative energy, the winds of negativity we all press against in this world and strive to overcome.

Thrust   Desire – Our desire fuels us toward our Creator. Seeking God's will in our lives pushes us forward. Using the spiritual gifts he has implanted in each of us move us toward our destination.

Lift   Hope – Imagination is the key to reality. We choose our direction through the wings of our faith and understanding of God's blessings and of what awaits us in our heavenly home.

Then, once the plane achieves flight, it does not go directly to its destination. Air currents continually alter the plane's path as changes in air pressure, temperature and humidity cause the plane to deviate from its flight plan. Course corrections are constantly being made to correct these deviations. Computers, expertise and experience help the pilot redirect the plane back on course. On average, a plane will spend 95% of its flight actually off course. We might look at our mistakes the same way. They are constant reminders of the need to correct our course and fine tune our path back to our heavenly home.

Additionally, as the flight attendants always tell us before flying, if there is turbulence causing us to need additional oxygen, we are to secure our own mask first, thus ensuring we have the oxygen we need before helping those around us. This is true spiritually as well because we cannot give to someone else what we do not already have within.

And the times that we live are turbulent! There is much in these trying times that would distract us, frighten us or otherwise push us away from our goal. We need God's continuous help in our lives to navigate through the storms we experience and we need his attributes in dealing with our trials. One might think of drawing from this needed help as putting on the "full armor of God."

The Full Armor of God

If one looks to Ephesians chapter 6, verses 11-16, Paul admonishes us to put on the full armor of God, that we may be able to withstand opposition. He then gives details of what this armor is and tells us to put on truth, righteousness, the gospel of peace, faith, salvation and the Spirit while praying always.

Armor of God

Putting on the full armor of God
protects us from our own self!

Today, more than ever, we need God's armor—daily! Rather than putting on his armor for the sake of self-righteousness, we need his armor to protect us from our own weaknesses. We need to put on God's attributes when facing the world. We must develop our personal relationship with him. We must communicate with him. We must align with his Spirit to guide and direct the constant choices we make each day. We have all felt the "speeding up of time" that we experience while living in the "end times" causing our plates to most likely be full at any given moment. It is vital that we be led through every decision we make and be strengthened to accomplish good amidst the turbulence we all feel. Putting on the full armor of God is part of our Preparedness efforts. It is most important that we prepare spiritually—so that we can then be guided toward both our physical and spiritual needs, particularly the needs of our families and loved ones.

Putting on the full armor of God means putting on his attributes which protects us from our own selves. When feeling critical of another, put on the full armor of God. When feeling hateful toward someone, put on the full armor of God. When feeling hard-hearted toward another of God's children in any way, put on the full armor of God!

Though separated from heaven, we share a common Father who created us in his likeness with his own attributes. Jesus is the example we are to follow and as we learn of him and seek his presence in our lives, we will grow our capacity to align with God's divine will. We have the power to live without fear as we exercise our faith in God and his plan for us.

lift off

As we learn to use divine attributes in our lives, we will find the confidence to reach for and accomplish our prayerfully set goals. And when struggling, we can remember that nothing passes by the Heavenly Father without his approval. If he allows a problem in our life, we can be sure that we have what is needed to overcome and that it will serve our greater good in some way.

We each are given spiritual attributes tailored specifically for our individual missions here on earth which have been designed for our unique needs. Some we may be already aware of, others we may have yet to discover. As we look within and trust our abilities, we will find the right spiritual tool is always there for us.

Every man hath his proper gift of God,
one after this manner, and another after that.
1 Corinthians 7:7

Our spiritual gifts are best suited to fulfill our individual missions in life. Yet we all share the mission and purpose of learning to love. Our Creator knows that we need his help to do this and God wants us to draw upon the powers of heaven for assistance, and by believing we are capable of doing so—we can!

Hold On to the Promises of God

      My Dearest Friends,

As the Holidays approach, let us not be distracted by the things of the world that would diminish the spiritual blessings and meaning for which Thanksgiving Day and Christmas are celebrated. Thanksgiving is a great time to show gratitude and to praise God in all things. Let us remember this Thanksgiving the knowledge we have been blessed to receive of our Savior, of his forgiveness and of his unconditional love for us, and of our return to him when we complete our missions here on earth.

When I think of the "other side," I think of the spirit world and the glimpse I was shown of our dwelling place with God. I was told during my visit there, that as we learn more about him and about the after life with him, we are then better able to live our lives here.

“…it is important for us to acquire knowledge of the spirit while we are in the flesh. The more knowledge we acquire here, the further and faster we will progress there.” —Embraced By The Light, page 84

Our world is becoming more and more complex and challenging. We see the signs of the times that are foretold in the Bible.

“...and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity ...Men's hearts failing them for fear...” (Luke 21:25, 26)

Yet we need not fall to fear! We are not left alone to find our own way or to lead our families blindly. Wake-up calls are sounding, can you hear them within? These are loving alarms, firm heavenly nudges, that give us "heads up" and remind us to look up from daily activities, to turn heavenward for our Heavenly Father's guidance, while feeling inward for his wondrous love and perfect will, for his strength in all things we are called to overcome and endure.

“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” (Proverbs 3:5, 6)

When our Heavenly Father wants us to be particularly aware, we feel his impression within our own spirit. Sometimes this can feel like a wave of anxiousness, but it is only caution that we feel signaling us that something requires our attention. The best response is not to let fear take over, rather, acknowledge the feeling or impression and turn to gratitude by thanking God for the awareness—and then remain open for follow-up impressions of instruction to come. We are all intuitive and able to receive helpful spiritual influence. Our awareness of this gift and acknowledgment of it will open us to greater information and often tell us what to do next.

Then as we follow higher direction, we can become "earth angels" lifting the vibration of those we encounter. While yet in heaven I was shown the Earth and all its people in turmoil—and at the same time I was also blessed to watch as angels surrounded the world in demonstration of their love and great care of God's creation. Their love for God shown brightly in their great union of devotion to his work of love surrounding our world as they sang beautiful, loving songs filled with healing tones that created perfect vibrations. These beautiful, healing tones of song began to nurture and heal all that was ill in the world.

That glimpse remains vivid in my mind and I still feel its expression of the purest love and concern. God's love and care for us is eternal and from that experience I knew we are never alone in life's struggles and that God is always blessing us with encouragement and guiding us no matter the painful loss or discouragement.

When I came back from my near-death experience, I returned with sure knowledge and gifts that were given to me for my mission. Yet I missed the love I felt there and being in the presence of the Savior. This heartache led me to want to reconnect with heaven in every way that I possibly could.

“Through prayer we are reminded of who we are, where we are going, and what God would have us do. By listening to God's answers to our prayers, we learn the language of the Spirit, which is so important for us to learn. But before we can listen, we must invite.”—The Ripple Effect, page 96

We must always acquiesce to God's will—he knows what experiences will bless us and we must trust what he allows. Yet we do have a part in opening ourselves to his love and spirit. I wrote in The Awakening Heart what works for me to enhance my heavenly connection as well as my connection to my own spirit as I give my life in service to God and always strive to follow his will.

"In each of us, I have learned, there is a place where our spirit dwells…I have learned to enter a quiet place within me and reflect on my spiritual needs…I allow myself to become very still, something I can do anywhere, at any time. Then I invite God's presence to enter. As I contemplate that unseen, spiritual part of me, I feel it expand to become the greater part, filled to overflowing with his love . . . I always wanted to be in tune with my spirit but I saw that this was a process that I had to develop until it became as natural to me as breathing. Through prayer and stillness, I began to develop the ability to be naturally in touch with my spirit.”
—The Awakening Heart, pages 215-218

My dear spirit brothers and sisters, our lights are so needed in the world today but we cannot give to others what we do not have within to pour from. So as we grow our awareness of others' needs, let us expand the love we have to give within by strengthening our personal relationship with our Heavenly Father.

It is so very important for us to begin walking more closely together. Being united in looking towards our Heavenly Father will bring us to safety and to his highest love. Today, the heavens continue as they always have in assurance that God is Almighty, and that there is nothing to fear.

May we place our complete trust in God, seeking his will always and holding to his promises I pray in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, amen.

Trying Times – An Opportunity to Expand Our Love!

When in the Savior's presence, his love surrounding me, I felt his enormous spirit and will never forget the sweetness of his voice. His message still rings in my ears and is ever so clear: “Above all else, love one another...“

“Love one another,“ I thought, “Can it be that simple?“ Loving whomever and whatever was easy within the presence of Jesus where I felt love everywhere! Heaven holds nothing but love, God is love, Jesus is love; the ability to love was no challenge at all while I was in spirit form in heaven surrounded by God's everlasting beauty and love.

Back on earth, I found loving everyone is not so simple—not so easy! The love I had for everyone and felt back from them was based upon conditions that made me feel vulnerable. Loving with all your heart can hurt, and hurt deeply. Love can seem a risky choice as resentment, jealousy, insecurity, disillusionment and disappointment are stimulated by human frailties. Yet I saw clearly—that to love and to be loved—is one of the strongest driving forces within mankind. And to choose to love, especially through such challenges, grows our spirit and our ability to love as Jesus does.

More than ever, we must hold to and expand the love in our hearts. As clamoring and calamity increase around us, we must be greater balance by allowing God's light and love to flow through us. Jesus is the ultimate example we are to follow. He literally radiates magnificent light that is filled with knowledge and the purest of love! Just being in his presence opened my heart and mind to receive pure knowledge of all that I wanted to know while bathing in the eternal comfort of his infinite and everlasting love.

Here on earth we are veiled from that pure knowledge we experienced while in the spirit world before coming to earth. Here on earth in our mortal lives, we are physically separated from that purest of love that is so abundant in the spirit world and so natural to our spirit because it is the reality of our heavenly home that we all came from. However, even while here on earth and in bodies of flesh, we can radiate the truths we have been given with our love to those around us.

This requires great effort on our part, especially in the trying times that we live. Yet within our spirit we each have the seed of God's purest love that we were created from and are here to nurture and expand . . . and our world so needs. Deep within our heart we can feel truth, we can feel love, we can feel God! Make it a practice to take quiet time to be with God and search your heart for his truths that you have been given and for more that God may desire to reveal to you. You may discover more that he has in mind for you! But he will only 'knock.' We must open the door to receive what he gives. Then allow what we have been given to flow out from us to others. Even in mortal form, we can be channels of God's love and truth to others, which will then join other loving ripples becoming vessels of love God can use to heal our world.

Start with your immediate family and those in your current living situation. Then branch out to friends, neighbors and extended family creating ripples of love that will flow through our families to our communities and on to our country and world. We can do this! We were eager to do this before coming to our mortal lives. We were shown the challenges we would face and were eager to do our part, gain the spiritual growth we would attain and complete our missions well!

I attempt be a source of hope and encouragement as well through all I do in my ongoing work of love. I trust God with all my heart but that is easy for me to do because of my experience with Jesus and I want to give all I can to help you, my dearest readers, find that same comfort and ability to trust that I depend on through my own challenges. We see the signs of the times that we live, yet we know that this also signals a greater outpouring of the divine through God's might, power and love to those who awaken and turn to him. May we each expand our own heart to greater love and then be a channel of heaven's strength to those around us I pray in the Savior's name, amen.

Easter Blessings

We Serve a Living God!

        My Beloved Friends,

Jesus is a living God! There are many who do not believe in him or who believe he was a great man but died long ago. Yet Jesus lives! We know he lives when he lives within our heart—we can feel it! And when we allow his love and accept the knowledge of an after-life with him to flow through us, we make him alive in our world, because who he is can then emanate from us in our actions and deeds. How can we help, then, but share his love? Why miss any opportunity to awaken others to the Lord that he might live within them as well?

Now, more than anytime before, we live in greater awareness of our need for Jesus Christ, who is the Savior of our world. God loves us unconditionally and his love is greater than anything we can even begin to imagine. He sent his only begotten son to show us the way of love. Jesus willingly suffered mortality and sacrificed his life that we might receive the gift of forgiveness and learn to love unconditionally as our Heavenly Father does. Some of my favorite words are “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son...” (John 3:16) which lift my spirit and remind me that God loves our world! He loves us so much that he sent his beloved son, Jesus, to remind us that we belong to him.

Christ rose from the grave. Death could not bind him, nor could the sealed tomb prevent his triumphant spirit from ascending to his Heavenly Father having completed his mission of love here on earth perfectly. Praise God! He suffered the pain of our sins for us. He allowed himself to be bruised for us. He suffered the pain of mortality for us—and he died for us—let us live for him!

Jesus is a living God, he is mindful of us today. He knows our suffering, he knows our struggles, he suffered, too, while here, and he opened the way for us to overcome and return to our Heavenly Father. He is the Light of the World (John 8:12), the Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6), the Word of God (Revelation 19:12-13), Lord of All (Acts 10:36), Bread of Life (John 6:35), the Good Shepherd (John 10:11,14), our Rock (1 Corinthians 10:4), our Deliverer (Romans 11:26), our Mediator (1 Timothy 2:5) and the Author and Perfecter of our Faith (Hebrews 12:2)—to name only a few of his titles—and whosever drinketh from him shall never thirst again. (John 4:13)

Our world has begun a challenging time of change and we need Jesus more than ever! He is our Redeemer, our greatest example of love, and the Light we must hold to as we face the times ahead. “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28)

And as we draw from the peace and confidence that is not of this world, that can only come from God—we must then share our light with others so that God lives! Here in this world! Through us!

God reveals his truth to his children. He did so to the prophets of old and he does so through prophets today. God is no respecter of persons and he will reveal his truths to us as we seek him with all our heart and place our trust in him. “Make me to understand the way of thy precepts: so shall I talk of thy wondrous works.” (Psalms 119:27) As we learn to prayerfully tune in to his gentle whisperings that can be felt in our heart, we will be given greater spiritual understanding—and then we can live gratefully by sharing the gifts we are given with others.

I wrote about the Universal Law of giving and receiving in The Awakening Heart on pages 206-207:

I was shown the universal law of giving and receiving: When you receive love or knowledge, you pass it on, and thereby leave yourself to receive again. If you hold on to it, you don't leave room to receive; you don't need it, because you don't use it. Use what you have, and you'll receive more. This is true for all of us. Knowledge without revelation is dead; knowledge held on to goes nowhere and helps no one. But the knowledge that we reveal to others takes on a life of its own, and allows us to receive more knowledge to share. This is one reason why I give so freely of the knowledge I have received. I know I am meant to do so. And as a result, I have the opportunity to receive more, to be the student as well as the teacher.

The darkness of the world would destroy Jesus, we see it in the news, how forces of hate persecute those who have found Christ's love. We see the signs of the times and feel the weight of hatred by those bound by darkness. Yet God has absolute power over all things and will not allow darkness to ultimately rule. Christ sealed the power of good over evil in this world when he completed his mission. Love will triumph over darkness and our world will be filled with knowledge of God and bathed in his love once more. We can help God dispel this darkness as we share the love we have for him with others—because our light then joins the light of others becoming a force of illumination—which is God, which is love. God can then use what is in this world to bring about his purposes.

Just as we see forces of darkness gather to destroy the love and faith in our world, our Heavenly Father is gathering forces of goodness and love as well. “God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will…” (Hebrews 2:4) God will reveal his wonders to us and if we watch for his hand in our lives, if we hold to the Light and Love of Christ, we have nothing to fear!

Our world is dividing into a spiritual battle, I was shown this would happen during my NDE. We are finding ourselves amidst a war between good and evil where faith is pitted against faith. The division occurring is not necessarily just one of religion against religion, but certainly is one of belief in God against those with hardened hearts spiritually; against those who choose spiritual darkness instead of the light and who attempt to destroy the faith of others. We will see powers that are not following God's laws rise and have success for a little while, but in the end they will fail. Jesus made this a certainty when he completed his mission faithfully and triumphantly here on earth. He conquered evil and saved each of us through his gift of love if we will but accept his love and forgiveness. Our world will be cleansed from all that is not of God.

I am stunned by how quickly this has all happened since my return and it can be quite ominous to consider the battle going on, however—I am actually excited because in our daily walk with Jesus in our heart, each morning and night, professing our love for him and our thankfulness for his love, we grow into greater appreciation of all that he taught and gave. We begin to develop a personal relationship with our Savior that will lead to our discovery that he is our best of friends. Our eyes will open to his hand in our lives as we begin to notice and recognize the miracles he sends. Gratitude is the key to recognizing God's miracles in our lives today. And God will increasingly reveal his wonders to us in greater ways.

We have the ability to discern truth from lies, light from darkness, love from hate. Anything that helps us draw closer to God and expands our hearts to greater love is from God. Anything that causes us to fill with fear is not. What helps strengthen our faith in Christ is from our Creator, while anything that draws hearts away from Jesus is not sent by our Father in Heaven.

We do need to prepare ourselves for difficult times by having a personal connection to God—it is the only way—by choosing this day whom we will serve . . . and “as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” (Joshua 24:15)

May God bless you as we commemorate the resurrection of our beloved Savior Jesus Christ. May he fill you with the sweet comfort that he brings and may the power of his love carry you through any storm in life. My prayers are also for each of us to deepen our personal relationship with the Creator, to increase our understanding of his will for us and expand our hearts to Christ's wondrous and infinite love. And then may we share our knowledge of him with others, that they may also be blessed. This I pray in the beloved name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

They Could Not

They looked at Him and
     saw a simple man
A carpenter with healing
     in His hands
They saw Him calm a sea
     and heal a dying man
They saw but could they
     really understand

They could not, They could not
Though they tried, they could not
He was just a simple carpenter
but with healing in His hands
But Could they really understand,
     they could not

They listened to the teaching that      they heard
They wondered at the mystery of      His word
They wondered what He meant,      about a Father's plan
They heard but could they
     really understand

They could not, They could not
Though they tried, they could not
They listened to the teaching
     about a Father's plan
But could they really understand,
     they could not

So finally upon a rugged cross
They killed the man who
     would not suffer loss
And when at last they took
     what willingly He gave
He died, but could they
     keep Him in the grave
They could not, They could not
Praise God, they could not
And when at last they
     took from Him what
     willingly He gave
Could they keep Him in the      grave, could they keep
     Him in the grave,
Could they keep Him in the      grave . . .

They could not, They could not
Praise God, they could not
And when at last they took
     from Him what willingly
     He gave
Could they keep Him in the grave, could they keep Him in
     the grave,
Could they keep Him in the grave,
They could not!

I weep when I listen to this song because it gives me a touch of home with Jesus as I remember him. When in heaven I recalled Jesus preparing to come to earth, we were all there! And we all knew the suffering he would endure for us. We cheered when we learned that he would come to earth to remind us of our heavenly home with God, our Heavenly Father, and that we would return to him unscathed by the challenges that earth would offer. We also knew that Jesus would give his life for us. We were sorrowful for him, yet rejoiced for the gift he would bring us and when I think of looking upon his majestic countenance, having triumphed over death, I want to shout “Praise God!”

The Power of Heaven is Love

God's Unconditional Love

Finding Comfort Through Trying Times

      Dearest Friends,

Just before returning to my mortal life on this earth, I was concerned about the hell I would suffer living in a world that felt loveless to me, after experiencing the fullness of God's love in the spirit world. I asked Jesus about this which is when he instructed me above all else to love. He said, “Go back and love...teach love...above all else you are to love one another...if you do that...everything else will be fine.”

We all know that the greatest commandment is to love, we know it is the most important choice any of us can make: to choose to love. I also believe Christ's words are meant to be comfort and guidance through trying times. There is much today that can discourage and frighten; the distress and suffering we see among many can weigh one's spirit down heavily. Yet Christ's words resonate in my mind and heart, that above all else—we are to love—and everything else will be fine.

I appreciate all who are praying for our world and know many of you join me in surrounding our world with as much love as we can. Our prayers do make a difference. I was shown this! And let's pray for each other as well, that we might remain strong, holding to our faith and our love, and placing our trust in God through the storms in our lives.

We are collectively responsible for this world we live on. We all lend our energy to it. Our thoughts, words, actions, talents, and light blend to form a collective environment and experience. Our combined energy helps create or destroy the well being of each person. Therefore, each action of each individual blesses or lessens the welfare of every other.

As I stood in the presence of Christ he was emphatic when he spoke “Above all else, love one another.” His voice vibrated in my heart, this was the most important truth I would learn in my experience with him. He wanted me to understand it and feel its full impact. It is the most important thing we can know and do—it is the reason we exist. To learn to love more fully is the reason we have come to this world. Love is the energy which holds the universe in place. It is the gateway through which we return to our Creator. It can conquer any problem, ease any suffering, heal any disease. Love creates and magnifies the joys of life. And, at the moment of death, love turns all earthly pain into indescribable bliss!

We were conceived in love spiritually. Love is the center of our beings. It is the energy of our souls, the spark of our divine nature. Being made of love, we cleave to it and seek it in all that we do. When we feel we do not have it, or when we feel we have lost it, we grieve. Its presence or absence colors our every action. It is life. It is happiness. It is salvation itself. “God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.” (1 John 4:16)

And what God creates and nurtures, it is Satan's nature to diminish and destroy. His effect is to make us feel worthless, to get us to enter the cycle of self-destruction. Whether through guilt, fear or judging ourselves and others, we lose confidence—the confidence that comes from living close to God with that peace which is not of this world and we lose sight of our own worth as well. And when we feel worthless, we remove ourselves from God. When we remove ourselves from God, our hope is diminished and our ability to thrive weakens. As our motivation for doing good becomes distracted by negative energy, we begin to succumb to hopelessness and despair, then eventually may join what made us feel worthless in the first place. Thus, the cycle spins ever downward, negativity claiming its own—those who give it and those who receive it, consumed with misery and self-hate.

We have all noticed the increase of calamity and natural disaster and are confronted with negative energy. Yet our divine worth remains untouched no matter how discouraged we may feel. I saw clearly that each life is precious in the eyes of God. Each soul—weak or strong, humble or proud, worldly or pure—is treasured beyond compare by our Creator. I also saw that every spirit, no matter how deeply deceived by lies, has the ability to reject the lies and find the truth within.

We "volunteered" to come to earth during these trying times and were excited to do so for what we would be able to give and for the spiritual growth we would gain.walk as children of light. There is no escaping our problems because they arise from the needs of our spirit. They are opportunities for us to understand and to overcome the weaknesses in our souls. A Shaman friend of mine taught it this way: "When confronted by adversity, challenge or trial, say to them, ‘Welcome my friend, what do you have for me today?’” We should view each problem as a tool for refining and furthering our growth.

Loved ones can help! Which is why Satan works so hard against our families. By prayer the dead have been raised and the sick have been healed—and more importantly—broken spirits have been lifted and made whole. If the faith of another is weak, the strength of our spirit can literally hold them up. If they are sick, our prayers of faith can often give them strength to be healed if it is God's will. The range of our help for others is immense. We can do far more good for our families, friends and others than we ever imagined! I love the scripture: "Pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much." (James 5:16, emphasis mine)

I was shown how our energy of spirit flows between us and around us. When we are depressed, we are holding our energy close and keeping it in. Our "aura" is pressed against us and does not radiate outward. Anytime we hold on to negativity—such as anger, frustration or despair, since this is a part of our aura and is not released—our energy becomes "pressed in." And when negativity is held tightly, nothing can get out. The negative energy is not released, which depresses our energy even more and can lead to clinical depression. This cycle fuels itself by attracting "like" energy and makes depression extremely difficult to overcome. prayer for love that never fails

Yet, as we find it within ourselves to begin opening and releasing, to begin allowing kindness to go out from us—a cycle is created and put in place of extending positive thought and deed, bringing healing to ourselves and others by way of the open flow. As we open ourselves to being kind to others, we open to love coming in and going out from us, detoxifying us from negativity, thus creating healing within our own being.

God's love is what heals sickness within the soul and as we open ourselves to giving and receiving love, we will feel his healing energy swell in our hearts from within. God's love is a gift that is freely given to all his children but we must accept his love and look within our own heart to experience it. We can see it in others, we can listen to others talk about God's love and lean on their witness for awhile, but eventually we all must submit to God's love.

Especially in our world today, many lead lives of loneliness and desperation. Because of pain produced by others, some protect themselves behind walls of anger or fear, lashing out at or retreating from others. God has shown me that the precious cure for their pain lies within each soul. “...for behold, the kingdom of God is within you.” (Luke 17:21) The cure, of course, is honest and pure love. God's love. Unconditional love. It resides within each of us naturally at our beginning. Everything we do touches everybody else in some way, and as we release our love to others, we each become the vessel God has chosen us to be from the beginning. Letting our light shine, letting our love and truth emanate to as many people as possible, is a mission given to each of us.

Just like you, I've wondered from time to time just what my mission is or if I'm on track, completing all that I was meant to complete, giving the service I was meant to give—but of course this is something I'm not meant to know while here. I'm meant to walk in faith just as you are and everyone else is too. The answer that does come and impresses me every time, is simply to live within the light of Jesus Christ, continuing to accept his love in my life. And just like you and all of us, by doing this, we will be able to do all that God wants of us. Love one another

We are to love one another. We are to be kind, to be tolerant, to give generous service, to pray for one another and hold loving thoughts for one another. I know that greater joy will come to us through love than in any other way! I have seen its wonderful and glorious rewards. The details of my experience and all that I share are important only to the point that they help us expand our ability to love.

Love is an emotion of energy that, unless expressed, remains unseen. It has power to change the universe. It is endless, it never dies. It cannot hurt, it cannot possess, it cannot withhold. God is Love. He created us in his image. And we have the power in the flesh to express love for God, love for self and love for all humankind. The Apostle John, so loved of Christ, tried to lead us to this understanding. "Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God." (1 John 4:7)

How do we endure stress? How do we overcome fear? How do we walk through our trials? How do we live in these troubled times? It is simply a matter of following the Savior's message which he most clearly expressed to me; “Above all else, love one another”...and all else will be just fine.

Celebrating 41 Years of God's Miracle In My Life

       Dearest Friends,

November 18th marks the anniversary of my NDE and visit to the spirit world where I met Jesus, loved ones dear and was taught about our heavenly home with God and our eternal lives.

hosts of angels       It never grows old for me to recall even a single minute of my journey into heaven. My heart still swells with love each time I remember the love I was given there, and I often fondly think of the hosts of angels who sang to me and wonder if they look over me with interest in "what on earth is she doing!"

My heart and soul work together to keep “Embraced” alive and available, in one way or another, to those searching for meaning in their life and greater understanding of the afterlife with God. Sharing the message of God's love is my life's work—it is my joy and my love. I stand amazed every time I see God's use of Embraced By The Light for the betterment of his children.

Today, while reflecting upon the mile-marker this day signals in my heart, I could not help but fill with wonder at God's Miracle of “Embraced” that has touched the lives of so many—but particularly the miracle it has been in my own life! My experience completely changed me in every way. And then being returned to mortality, to being confined in the flesh again, to being taken away from the beauty and love that fill heaven and we can only begin to glimpse here on this earth—was an adjustment when I returned to this world that caused deep anxiety and depression to the point of fearing for my very soul. There was no one I could talk to that could help me assimilate my new knowledge; no clergy, no ministers, no friends or person could understand. And I think this is what Jesus wanted—so that I would cling only to him! He kept me close and often I was taken back to the angels singing to me and feeling their love—which helped me endure the terrible loneliness and destructive forces wrought upon me through my being returned to this earth. Darkness threatened to swallow me and "Embraced" is the miracle that got me through as I literally clung to Jesus and his promise that I would return to where I had been—with him, in my true home in heaven.

Beholding the Savior's presence, embracing him and being filled with his magnificent love and brilliant light, was the greatest miracle of my life! Yet I knew I had been saved in his love and forgiven through his grace—which are free gifts to everyone who will receive them because they cover all God's children. But then being returned to this world that felt loveless to me, and being able to adjust through my many changes, was a great miracle as well. angels tendingThe conflicting energy of my old ideas that now were being replaced with pure truth was a great challenge to reconcile between my mind and heart. I had been freed from my hell that came from previous beliefs, but now I didn't know what to do with this new freedom. Before my visit to the afterlife, I had feared death and being consumed with fire and brimstone—after my visit to heaven, I no longer had a god to fear…I had a Heavenly Father to love.

I was often taken back to my experience, to the beautiful garden and the angels who had tended me and sung to me. I recounted my experience hourly, minute by minute some days, to help me through and I held to Jesus each moment with all my heart, might and soul. And there is a song I used to close my eyes and visualize as I soaked up the words that helped me feel the miracle of my life and experience with Jesus, of God's love for me, of the Creators wondrous creations and endless love for us all. This song was a constant reminder that all this—my life, my visit to the spirit world and my mission for God here on earth—all were God's great miracle! …And I can trust that and lean on his strength …because after all, it was God who also created the heavens and put the stars in place…

It Took a Miracle

My Father is omnipotent,
And that you can't deny;
A God of might and miracles-
'Tis written in the sky.

CHORUS:
It took a miracle to put the stars in place,
It took a miracle to hang the world in space;
But when He saved my soul,
Cleansed and made me whole,
It took a miracle of love and grace!

Though here His glory has been shown,
We still can't fully see
The wonders of His might, His throne-
'Twill take eternity.

The Bible tells us of His power
And wisdom all way through,
And every little bird and flower
Are testimonies too.

We all have his love and forgiveness, the miracle is in accepting those gifts. “Embraced” is a miracle that was done in me and I thank God for this precious gift every day! And I pray only to do his will each day as I humbly and thankfully serve his great work of love.

Thank you for your love and prayers these many years. The message of God's eternal love is so important! I stand in awe as I see his loving protection over the work he gave me to do—and, as his spirit wills it through his eternal love and truths, Embraced By The Light will continue to awaken more and more of the Heavenly Father's precious children to his unconditional love.

Personal Moments in the Presence of God
- The Power of Communication
With our Father in Heaven

I appreciate all who are praying for our world and know many of you join me in surrounding our world with as much love as we can! Our prayers do make a difference in our world and the lives of those we pray for. We can pour our heart out prayerfully for our families as well, strengthening them and our eternal bonds of love. We create loving ripples when we pray for others, whether they be those who are close to us or someone we encounter as we move through our lives each day. Yet if we have not tended to our personal relationship with God, our ability to help others is lacking our full capacity—and especially when it comes to our loved ones, we want to be able to implore the Lord mightily on their behalf. When that sudden emergency happens or a certain situation appears bleak—there is always something we can do—we can pray! And when unable to physically be with someone very close in our heart who is suffering, how grateful we are to be able to send them our love by praying for them. At such times, what a blessing it is to know that our prayers are heard, answered and bless those we pray for.

I have a large and extended family and so have found myself incredibly thankful for the gift of prayer through many emergencies and challenging events with loved ones dear. Recently, I found out that my sister's health had taken a turn for the worse and that even on morphine, she was suffering terrible pain. My heart yearned to rush to her, however, I currently have responsibilities that prevent me from doing so. I reassured her that I would come to her as soon as I could and that I was praying for her, that the whole family was praying for her and that I would have my WAVE angels pray for her as well. How grateful I felt to be able to make such full use of prayer!

This morning my sister called me very excited and said, “Betty, I don't have any pain! What's happened to me?”—and I promptly told her, “That's the power of prayer!” She had fallen asleep before taking her pain medication and somehow slept through the night. Upon waking up she was surprised it was morning and felt inside her pocket. Sure enough, her dose of medicine was still there. She expected to be in so much pain that she would not be able to get out of bed. Instead, she was pain free and able to get up and accomplish some activities that she had not been able to do through the physical trauma she had been experiencing. She quizzed me insistently wanting to know what could have happened and I responded to her, “Accept the gift! Who knows what tomorrow will bring? God has blessed you today—rejoice in his gift and follow your heart.” I thought of the scripture from Psalms 118:24, “This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.”

It is in our connection with God's spirit that we can find comfort in troubled times and help others do the same. Through our Heavenly Father's presence and influence in our lives, our steps will be guided and we will feel the gift of discernment more clearly in the choices we make. As we take the time to pray, to quiet ourselves and invite God's intervention into our lives, we can feel his presence and connect with our own spirit that is within our own heart and is always connected to its Creator.

Just talk to God       Here on earth, communicating with God is a two-way street that requires both desire and effort on our part to connect with him. And we can be certain that God will do his part in answering our prayers but he has promised us, with our agreement before coming to earth, that he won't intervene in our lives without our invitation. Through prayer, we invite him into our lives and build a personal connection to him that will lift us and strengthen us throughout our mortal lives.

While in God's presence during my near-death experience, our communication just flowed with a oneness that was effortless on my part. But then I came back to earth with the knowing that this was not my true home and I yearned for that closeness to God that came so easily while in Christ's presence. Here on earth I felt separate from him and found mortal language limiting, yet I knew I had to learn how to use the gift of prayer and wanted to do so more fully than I had before my experience. I remembered that while in the spirit world, I could look in on the earth...just as I might look into another room. Conversations on earth are heard in heaven and understood regardless of language. The Spirit speaks a universal language, deeper and more powerful than voice. It communicates accurately and clearly, piercing through ignorance or false understandings while recognizing each person's true desires.

It is our desires, not the wording or form we use, that provides the energy that makes our prayers effective. Though we can never learn too much about prayer, one does not need to sign up for a course of study or even have much experience with prayer to be able to pray powerfully. All that is required is the desire to connect with our Creator. With true desire, our prayers not only ascend to heaven, but they nurture us as well. They take form as an energy that if visible would be seen to add light to our presence or the aura that radiates around us. Our souls literally glow brighter in prayer as our spirits communicate with the Father of our spirit; it is through prayer that we bring life to our very soul.

Any form of prayer is a personal moment in the presence of God. Christ encouraged his followers to pray without ceasing, meaning our hearts should always be in communication with God. Our thoughts can be prayers too so that whatever our physical circumstance, our soul can be on its knees in prayer. Through prayer, we are reminded of who we are and where we are going—and what God would have us do. By listening for God's answers to our prayers, we can learn the language of the Spirit and grow toward greater attunement with his will . . . but before we can listen . . . we first must invite.

Divine Womanhood & Manhood - God's Perfect Design

     Dearest Friends,

With the loss of my husband and my "Rock," Joe…I felt gratitude for the strength of family bonds in a way I have never experienced before. Through this most painful time, we had the foundation of a strong family unit, devoted to God and to each other, that we could draw from and lean upon to carry us through our loss. I pray for all families to have such bonds of love, of devotion to one another, of compassion and understanding—with that firm foundation in God—that will not only endure, but shore each other up through every storm!

Intuitively we know that men's and women's roles compliment each other. In their purity, they are an ideal balance and the perfect design of a loving Heavenly Father. Yet we live in a time when these roles have become blurred and have moved away from what God intended. Due to our wandering from God being the core focus of our lives and not being obedient to his law of love, we now face consequences in a modern society that make it challenging to be the loving family unit which God intended from the beginning.

“Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;” (Ephesians 5:25) Yet in our broken society, women find themselves taking on the role of provider out of need and men becoming distracted from their families or even abandoning them—and the loving example of mother or father is missing. When this happens, the entire family is thrown out of balance. Often, both parents must work to make ends meet and the children are left with others, or worse, left alone to parent themselves without direction or feelings of love from either parent or family unit. This is an unfortunate result of our times that is causing harm to families—especially to children, and it will take the determination of parents to return to trust, faith and love for God, in order for families to be brought back to the balance that God intended for them.

While in the spirit world I was shown and taught the perfection of male and female roles, which we experience in heaven in a more perfect way than we do here on earth. In the spirit world, male and female roles are equal and they perfectly compliment each other. These divine roles are a perfect balance—and they are enjoyed by all! Here on earth our humanness creeps in along with the distractions of the world around us that have taken away from what true womanhood and manhood are divinely created to be.

Mothers are co-creator's with God and Mother Earth and have been given an extra dose of spiritual sensitivity. Women are blessed with greater gifts of the heart that assist them in their nurturing and influential role as established and blessed by God. A mother is a spiritual leader to her children, and her nurturing love is an essential part of God's divine plan for them and for her.

Men, like women, were divinely created to serve specific roles here on earth. In God's perfect wisdom and to serve his purposes, he blessed men with increased strength in their physicality, and gave them emotional strength to endure the heavy responsibility of providing the physical needs for their precious families. I have to wonder how heavily that responsibility must weigh upon a man's shoulders while in care of his wife and little ones!

Men are designed to be protectors and providers and specifically given a greater attunement to the physical, while women are more attuned to what is spiritual. A worldly perspective would take away the gifts intrinsic to both these roles. But when we hold to God's plan, we discover our gifts inherent to our role and step into a divine balance that our Heavenly Father intends to fill the needs of all his children. In God's perfect wisdom, he created woman to walk along side of man. Hand in hand, they walk together, joined in loving support of each other—and of each other's divine roles and gifts. They then create a solid foundation on which their children grow. This is God's perfect plan. And as we connect fully to our important role and responsibility, we will rise up to achieve our highest potential, which is a growth that leads into the eternities! . . . Where we will evolve higher still.

I want to express my appreciation for men who take the responsibility of their role seriously—fathers and grandfathers, brothers and sons, husbands and all the men in our lives—whose roles are vital to their families. Likewise, I want to express my appreciation for all women who lift themselves to meet God's will for them—mothers and grandmothers, daughters and sisters, wives and friends who lend female energy to all in their lives.

While in the spirit world, I was shown that it is actually the female energy that our world desperately needs today. I was told that it is the grandmothers, the women of wisdom, who will bring the healing needed to our world. I was shown that these women will come forward in greater numbers, to help nurture children missing parental love, to help guide the direction of our schools and communities, participating politically to change the course of our world and adding the love and concern for future generations that has been all but forgotten in the times we now live.

I pray for the strength of righteous men that will help open the way for women to come forward. I pray for the strength of righteous women who will be moved to discover their gifts and influence to be able to help affect the changes so needed.

I pray for all families to be lifted closer to God, that their eternal strength and bonds of love will be felt in a greater way. God uses what is and we must do the same. Many family situations are less than ideal as greater numbers of women find themselves a single head-of-household and many men do too. God is aware of your needs and will hold you close. I bear witness of this. With Joe gone from the head of our family, I miss the male energy and strength he brought so much! Yet, finding myself now the matriarch of our family, I have felt my Heavenly Father extra close and have clung to him to help me through every obstacle and challenge—especially the unforseen ones!

And I pray for all who are giving of themselves to lift the vibration of mankind, to make the world a better place for our families and mortal lives. May we live up to our covenants with our loved ones and keep the promises we made to God before coming here, I pray in Jesus' name, amen.

Speak of the Wonders of God

O give thanks unto the Lord;
Call upon his name:
Make known his deeds among the people.
Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him:
Talk ye of all his wondrous works.
Glory ye in his holy name:
Let the heart of them rejoice that seek the Lord.
Psalms 105:1-3

       Dearest Friends,

As children we were taught to begin our prayers by thinking of something we are thankful for. I have found that even during those moments when frustration or discouragement might otherwise overwhelm, no matter my current state of emotion or humanness I can always get quiet and go within to find something in my heart to be thankful for to begin a prayer. Even when heartfelt communication seems far away, as I consciously think of my blessings and express my gratitude to God, I immediately begin to feel my spirit's eternal connection to the Heavenly Father. This habit of beginning my prayers with gratitude has served me well throughout my life. The Thanksgiving Holiday gives us added opportunity to gather with loved ones and pause to reflect and feel within our heart for God's gifts and then prayerfully express our heartfelt gratitude.

Gratitude is also the first tool I pick up when I feel myself even beginning to fall to depression. "Count your many blessings, name them one by one..." goes the old familiar hymn that includes, "When you are discouraged, every doubt will fly, and it will surprise you what the Lord hath done."

And probably because of my NDE, my very favorite verse is:

So, amid the conflict
       Whether great or small,
Do not be discouraged,
       God is over all;
Count your many blessings,
       Angels will attend,
Help and comfort give you
       To your journey's end.

Since my return from my NDE I miss the wonders of heaven and the incomparable joy of being in the Savior's presence. I have seen great struggles and have spent many days literally walking through my house, usually while cleaning in an attempt to be useful, yet with all my heart seeking comfort and strength by thinking of things to be grateful for and whispering, "Thank you Lord for my health, for my physical strength and ability, thank you Lord for my family for however long this lasts, I'm so grateful for all you give." Darkness is kept at bay while I think of things to be thankful for and soon my heart begins to swell with the magnificence of God's hand in my life.

Sometimes I feel uncomfortable when running errands or going to the grocery store. My heart may be at home wanting to complete something precious to me, yet I also must fill responsibilities that take me away from my home and family. And I do my best to be of service during these times too. Perhaps I notice someone who has a physical handicap or someone who looks discouraged. I immediately begin praying for them and before I know it, what started out as a chore is filling me with joy as I think of many blessings to be grateful for. When I thank Heavenly Father for my blessings, I feel them in my heart…right now…in this moment. Because I always want to do God's will and I don't know what tomorrow will bring—but whatever it is—I will be grateful for it!

Gratitude is part of the Universal Law of giving and receiving. As we share what we are given, the way is open for us to receive more. When you receive love or knowledge and pass it on, you leave yourself open to receive again. When we hold on to what we are given and keep it to ourselves, we are not expanding it, we are not using it to bless others, and so we lose it because we aren't using it. Use what you have, and you will receive more, this is an eternal principle. And one way to use what we have been given is to thank God for it! Another way is to share his goodness with others. The knowledge that we reveal to others takes on a life of its own, and allows us to receive more knowledge to share. The way I like to think of it is that I receive God's gifts by taking them into my heart and adding my love—which expands them and then I give back by sharing what I have been given and then I'm ready to receive more!

"Make me to understand the way of thy precepts: so shall I talk of thy wondrous works." (Psalms 119:27) Part of growing in our spiritual understanding and ability to love is by sharing what we have been given with others. This can be done by example as we gather our loved ones and talk about God's hand in our lives as well as express our thankfulness for his gifts. As we do, we invite further blessings and create ripples of love that will bless us, our families and all around us.

Celebrating 20 Years of “Embraced By The Light”

      My Dearest Friends,

November 30th, 2012 is the celebration of the 20th anniversary of my book, Embraced By The Light, as well as the 39th year anniversary of my experience with death and beyond. I never dreamed that I would live to see this day, and what I experienced during my NDE, is still so very vivid to me. I stand in awe of God's hand in my life and his direction in this uncomplicated, precious book. I am also thankful for his blessing to be honored by him as a messenger of his eternal love, so much so, that I no longer wonder or ask myself, “Why me?” After all these years, I have accepted at least in part, the answer to that question. When God moves in lives, he uses “what is” to compel toward something or to impede us from something, and always for the purpose of bringing about favorable results that are advantageous to escalate our spiritual growth––or to aide in the growth of others. I accept his call with humble gratitude and will continue to serve him with all my heart.

Embraced By The Light, brings to us greater understanding and knowledge of the Spirit World and of our place with God in the Heavenly Realm. It gifts us with greater understanding of why we are on earth and guides us to how we might better live our lives to fulfillment of his purposes for us. We are timeless, ageless beings on a journey to evolve to even higher-selves; to become more pure, more exclusively inclined to seek our Heavenly Father's personal desires for us. This is our goal, our challenge, to live in acceptance of his will and learn to love as he loves without condition. God is pure love!

I knew upon returning from the Spirit World that I was to share my understanding of all that I witnessed, that it was given to me to share, at an appropriate time. Spiritual experiences need to be shared. In my experience, Jesus said that we are not to hide from the truth; we are to share it with one another as we find it, that we are to speak of the wonders and mysteries of God as they are gifted to us.

O give thanks unto the Lord; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people. Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him: talk ye of all his wondrous works.
Psalms 105:1,2

We are all compelled by the Spirit to reach out as we are touched, and I understand a little better why I have been given this desire so strongly. I was given a vision of Embraced and how it would reach people around the world, all those whom God prepared to receive it. I was told that the right Publishers would come forth and sacrifice much to make it happen, and they did! The right people were set in place to help deliver this book to God's beloved children and I will forever be grateful to them all.

It was fascinating to experience the unfolding of the birth of Embraced By The Light! I was led to a bit here and a bit there until it was done. And oddly enough I never felt to rush into anything, I simply knew that God would lead the way, and I trusted and followed by faith. It was no surprise to me when the message he communicated to me went out to the world like I was shown it would, as an unstoppable giant octopus, reaching and touching every part of the world. The momentum would be like that of ocean waves; coming and going but never ceasing to reach.

I was told upon its publication that Embraced By The Light was a publishing phenomenon, that it changed not only the appearance of books being published, but also what publishers began accepting to be published. The message in Embraced continues now after twenty years, continuing to ripple out to those who in turn, feel to share it with their loved ones. Sharing the message of God's eternal love, creates the ripple effect at its finest––that will go forward until one day—that powerful ripple of love will be experienced by all. Everything we do ripples out to affect others, and they in turn pass it on to affect us. I was shown that at times ripples create huge waves that wash over humanity, changing it forever, as Christ's life did. And sometimes they are so small, yet so great, that they remain relatively unknown in our lifetime, but continue to affect the lives of those who follow. How many of us hold onto and are blessed by the words or deeds of our parents or grandparents?

Jesus once said, “Let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” (Matthew 5:16) Who am I, then, that the message I share touches so many lives? I don't know, and I don't worry about it as I used to. I am comfortable in the knowledge that I have a message to share in Embraced By The Light, a message of God's redeeming love. I know that for many, God has used my light to guide them toward him.

I challenge you to let your light shine and radiate to as many people as possible. Letting our love and truth emanate to others, is a mission given to each of us. If each of us shares our knowledge, soon all dark corners will be reached, and we will begin the healing of the world through greater understanding and wisdom, thus chasing out all darkness. We, too, will begin the healing of our own souls. As we each find one person with whom to share our light, a wonderful miracle begins to take place: we find the Lord answering our individual prayers and preparing us to become the answer, to yet many others.

In this world of billions of people, Embraced By The Light has blessed only millions. There are many more who lead lives of loneliness and desperation who need to be reached. I hear from people who are in pain that is often produced by others. Some people protect themselves behind walls of anger or fear, some lash out at or retreat from those around them. God has shown me that the precious cure for our pain lies within each one of our souls. The cure, of course, is honest and pure love, his love. Unconditional love!

In Embraced By The Light, I recall the incredible love that I felt throughout the spirit world. I learned that love resides within each of us naturally from our beginning. We can overcome our own fears and hurts to become the answer to others prayers, as well as our own. I saw that we are not alone, that everything we do touches everybody else in some way, and that as we release our love to others, we each become the vessel God has chosen from the beginning.

In the video above, listen to Betty share her dedication and commitment to the message of God's love and invitation for others to do the same.

Because of what I share in Embraced By The Light, this I know—that regardless of my reception, regardless of apparent success or failure, regardless of pain or sacrifice—I must continue to share this message. I will create as many ripples within the family of mankind as God blesses me with. If it is His will, I will share His love until my voice is gone and my body stilled. And I invite everybody else who feels the call to do the same. It is the greatest gift we have to offer. We are all shepherds to some degree. We are all compelled by the Spirit to seek his truth and do his will, each in our own way, creating waves that overlap others and resonate within their souls, inviting them to do better, to look to God, to live life to the fullest with joy.

Help me continue sharing this beautiful message of God's eternal love. Our world needs this message now more than ever before. Let's keep speading the word till is goes “viral” and blesses all! Thank you and God bless you!

       With all my love,

       Betty

For the 20th anniversary of “Embraced,” I wanted to do something to show my gratitude for the miracle that is Embraced By The Light, as well as for you my precious brothers and sisters, who've not only read my book, but who love “Embraced” and are drawn to the warmth we feel as we receive God's love in a greater way and expand our own hearts to greater love.

I took the time to go through my boxes of photos, faxes, articles, invitations and various memorabilia—each item bringing back fond memories and filling me with awe at God's hand during those remarkable years. I found this so renewing, rejuvenating and energizing that I felt to share some of my precious memories with you.

I thought a few images would be a wonderful addition to my homepage, but then I found newspapers and tabloids with some awesome articles, and some critical ones too. And as I opened another box, a story began forming, a story of the miracle of God's work of Embraced By The Light. I wanted to share it all but there is so much that no single page could contain it. So I set aside what stood out in my heart and created a new addition to my website: “Honoring Embraced By The Light – Celebrating 20 Years.”

This new section is part history and part documentation—mixed with emotion, gratitude and love. And even though I share only a small portion of what was collected during that time, I hope it will be a blessing to others, answer questions and bring joy to you as well. A word of warning, it simply cannot be digested in a single sitting. I recommend taking an overlook when you get there, and then browsing wherever your heart leads. Please don't hesitate to "click" on the photos of interest, nearly all will enlarge when you do so that you can see the details or read the articles.

God bless you as you explore! You'll see the sacrifices made by many that all came together for a most wonderful gift to all who embrace this simple message of God's love.

God Moves In Our Lives

When God moves in our lives, he uses "what is" to either compel us toward something or to impede us from something, always for the purpose of bringing about circumstances beneficial to our growth. As we evolve individually and collectively to greater things, God's work in our lives also becomes greater as he continues to guide us to ever higher levels of knowledge and to help us increase our capacity to love. And as we evolve, we become naturally more inclined to seek only what he desires for us. However, were we to yield completely to what we feel God desires for us, we would still make errors because we are human and can only work within the confines of our free will and the current level of our understanding and perception.

We must never forget that teaching ourselves through trial and error is what life on earth is all about. In coming here, our spirits willingly took on flesh as a means of self-knowing our weaknesses. This happens as we make choices firsthand and then live out their consequences. Freedom in the flesh is a gift which brings opportunities for growth no other endeavor could provide. But it can and often does lead us through a course of pain and self-destruction. The gift of choice—as with any expression of freedom—comes with sacrifice and the potential for hardship, but it is vital to expanding our knowledge. Reaching higher levels of growth means obtaining more knowledge through mistake and trial. It means making more sacrifices and enduring additional challenges. In our desire to lift ourselves to higher ways, we must submit to the hardships of what we must learn in getting ourselves there.

Conflict is the way of this life, both for individuals and for society. We will struggle alone and together. Survive alone and together. Progress alone and together. Our evolution may appear slow or nonexistent sometimes —however, it is constant, and it is sure. The pain of growth and change are not easy, but in orchestration of the divine plan of God, we move forward as a woman in labor giving birth to a world primed for seasonable change. Painful though this labor is, all things work to serve God's greater vision for us. We can endure our most challenging moments and bear our greatest pains with the knowledge that we live within the plan of our Father in Heaven.

When Paul, in the Bible, asks for the thorns of his flesh (his infirmities) to be removed, he learns they cannot be because they serve a purpose in God. When asked why a certain man is blind, Jesus answers, "He is blind for the purpose that I might heal him." Every circumstance in life has its unique purpose and is in the control of God. Nonetheless, we have free will to express ourselves in response to circumstance, and it is how we respond which matters more in our development than do the details of our circumstances.

Every aspect of life—of "what is"—is known by our Father in Heaven who over sees it and knows its best use. When we connect with him in prayer, he will inspire us, comfort us, and guide us. He does not inflict nor does he punish. He allows all things their natural course because we learn firsthand this way. But as with any loving parent, intervention is a part of God's unconditional love for us. Through our sincere prayers and wishes, we can make our requests. Those which are true, sincere, and made with pure intent, reach into the universe to open paths for direct positive results.

May our prayers continue for our world and for each other. And may peace be granted as we learn what attracts and holds it.

Praising God for Loving & Devoted Fathers

As I write this note to you my heart is full of love for all loving and caring fathers. Fathers that set high standards and righteous ideals for their family through their example, teach values and principles, and are role-models to not only their sons, but also to their daughters who will one day most likely look for their father's attributes in the man they choose to marry. The first words a child speaks may be "mom" or "momma," but it is a universal fact that almost every child considers their dad to be their true hero. Often men are hesitant to show their "gentler" side, yet it is in their gentleness that they actually show true strength.

While mothers are blessed with a spirituality and natural affection for and closeness to God, men are blessed to be Patriarchs for their families and as their foundation, have the ability to receive God's guidance for the needs of their loved ones. As a man turns to God's will and draws his strength from the Lord, he builds a foundation of strength and faith that will bless his family for generations to come.

I am especially grateful this year for the father of my children and for my own precious father, both of whom are now with the Lord. As I decorated their gravesites with my family this Memorial Day, we shared our thoughts about a father's influence and how each of these incredible men had sacrificed some part of themselves, that their loved ones might have a better life.

Joe and my dad both honored their role as fathers and lived their lives dedicated to serving their families as laid out in the perfect blueprint of God for men. I praise God for them. While they were not perfect, they lived their lives loving their families as patriarchs of strength, wisdom and love. I learned that while women are gifted nurturers, matriarchs and the heart of the home—men are the very foundation of the home, gifted to shield and protect, provide and set a safe foundation for their families. Without a father in the home, families suffer great loss and become vulnerable, even prey to the 'outside' world. God knew this would be so, thus I believe the perfect blueprint for responsibility and leadership is laid out in this scripture: "For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church..." Ephesians 5:23 Father's Day for Joe

"What is expecteded tends to be realized." In my family we have a tradition of honoring mothers and fathers on their special day. My father taught me that when you "honor a person in their role, they tend to feel to live up to that role." My mother said, "if you want to feel like a queen, you must treat your husband like a king," and thus the tradition was started in my family of crowning the fathers on Father's Day and paying special tribute to the mothers on Mother's Day. For Father's Day, the children are given the priveledge to "crown" their father and it is interesting to watch how even the youngest of grandchildren look up to their dads and respond to feeling that being a father is a special gift, a privilege, and that the title "father," is held sacred.

God bless our fathers to provide for their families and strengthen them by the power of their love. May their eternal bonds bless each other and draw them nearer to God, thus creating loving ripples of strength to our entire world, I pray in Jesus' name.

Women - the Heart of the Home

It is a blessing for me to acknowledge the women of today, who as mothers and nurturers, honor their role as laid out for them by our Heavenly Father. As mothers, when aligned to the perfect blueprint of God, we become gifted nurturers, matriarchs and the heart of the home. We are the first to encourage our children, and through our love and by our faith, give them a foundation of love that develops their self-worth. And as role models we prepare them for the world, and with our wisdom and confidence imprinted in them, their ability to meet any challenge is made greater!

In the spirit world, I was told Satan’s strongest desire is to control and destroy the family. It is his hope to destroy mankind by breaking up the family unit and by separating them from God. It was explained to me that his strength in accomplishing this would be by reaching the heart of the woman first and the man would quickly follow. When God created the different roles for men and women, he kept women close to himself in spirituality, as co-creators of life. Satan fears the spirituality in women and God’s need for them to be the nurturers of children. He attempts to access the next generation by removing both spirituality and the mother from the home. By destroying families, he can be confident that the breakdown of society will soon follow.

A deep void is created in our homes when mothers or fathers leave their children, but particularly mothers during the crucial years in which the child develops his bonds and becomes rooted in his foundation for life. The first three years of life is the time when a child develops a conscience for right and wrong; learns respect of self and others; and learns traits of integrity that include honesty, a state of being whole, and soundness of moral character. It is during this time that the child learns the most intimate bond of life, the bond with love: love of self, which the heart of the mother can provide—and the love of family, which prepares them for society. The ripple effect of pain produced by the lack of a family bond, especially when the mother is not in the home, is carried through into adulthood. The child, not bonding, can turn against parent, and parent, not having bonded, can turn against child. The negative effects of disconnect, disassociation and lack of self-confidence can nearly always be traced back to the child's early needs not being met. Likewise, the ripple effects of good-will toward others, self-worth, and well-being in life and society begins here, in our home.

I honor the “Grandmothers” who are are stepping up and filling in as nurturers and care-givers to children whose mothers are forced into industry outside the home. I was shown during my near-death experience that “women of wisdom” would come forward in greater numbers as families fell apart, to teach them and lead society toward the healing in our world that would become so greatly needed. Many of these women are already proactively participating through community projects, running for political positions and contributing their time to various help organizations—and many have yet to come forth.

As I raised my own children, I realized they were growing from those crucial years of needing my constant nurturing and care toward greater independence, which opened the way for me to write “Embraced By The Light” and begin my tours of carrying the message of God’s unconditional love. I knew my call to share my life and my message outside of my home had come. I also knew that many women in the world, like me, who were also grandmothers, were in the process of fighting back against Satan. I was shown in the spirit world the awakening of women to the perils that we face and the reawakening of mothers and grandmothers everywhere to the special purpose of all mothers to protect the family and return it to the strong nurturing unit in which children can learn to love.

While I feel it crucial to share what I was shown in the spirit world about the potential fate of our families and of our world, we are not without hope and do not need to fall victim to Satan's plot to destroy our families. Our voices are heard by our Heavenly Father and a mother has the power to implore him mightily for her children. We can by choice return to higher standards of living—expecting them from our children as well.

My heart goes out to all mothers who have had to leave their children and work outside the home. There were times when I had to do this myself. My prayers are for this trend to be reversed. We can reverse the damage that has been done in our lives and in our world through misuse of our free-will and lack of love. Then, by being the heartbeat within our homes, and, seeking God's will in our lives, we will strengthen our families and create loving ripples that will go out into our neighborhoods and then on to our communities, joining the positive ripples of others that will send needed waves of love throughout our world. Our world can be changed and healed!

Friends, as mothers and caregivers to our children, we are the heart of the home, the pulse, we set the tone in our homes to empower our children to do the same. Every day brings greater opportunities to serve them, to teach them and to love them. How blessed we are to be held near to God as co-creators and nurturers of his creation with him.

God bless you in your good works. Happy Mother's Day!

Dearest Friends,

What an exciting time we live! Though we often feel powers of darkness gathering their forces to interrupt the good in our lives—likewise—the heavenly powers of love and light are gathering forces to bless and heal our world. During my journey in the spirit realm, I was shown the angels singing healing tones to our world to help heal and lift man’s vibrations to that of light and love. As we attune ourselves to God and the things of God that speak to our heart, he will reveal his wonders to us! We will see his hand in our lives and witness his loving miracles. He knows each of us better than anyone and sent his Son to not only redeem us, but show us the way of love back to our heavenly home.

As a human race, we must prepare mentally, physically and spiritually for the inevitability of earth changes. During my NDE I was shown natural disasters and man-made disasters and accidents that have and will result because of our world's fallen condition and its negative energy. I was told that we have all but destroyed the healing energies we have as care-takers of our planet and of one another. We have allowed our love to adulterate, contaminate and deteriorate. Even so, I was told it is not too late. We can still change and reinstate the healing of our world if we but have the will for the difficult and far-reaching choices necessary to do so.

Our Heavenly Father does not abandon us to do this alone. He loves us unconditionally and his love is greater than we can begin to imagine.Jesus is the Living Water He sent his only begotten son to show us the way of love. He willingly sacrificed his life that we might receive his forgiveness and turn our hearts to love! Some of my favorite words are “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son...” (John3:16). Perhaps now, more than anytime before, we live in greater awareness of our need for Jesus Christ, who is the Savior of our world.

To this day I am moved to tears whenever I recall my most sacred time with him and all that he showed me. My memory of our premortal life with him fills my heart with thankfulness for my Lord, my brother and friend, my Savior and God! I recall how I was shown Jesus preparing to come to earth—we were all there. We all knew the suffering he would endure for us. We cheered when we learned that he would come to earth to remind us of our heavenly home with God, our Heavenly Father, and that we would return to him unscathed by the challenges that earth would offer because of his loving sacrifice of his life for us. We knew he would give his life for us and we were sorrowful for him because we loved him so much, yet we rejoiced for the gift he would bring us. I remember looking on his majestic countenance, having completed his mission, triumphant over death and I want to shout “Praise God! He lives! My eternal Savior lives!” Today I know Jesus lives because he lives in my heart and I thank my Heavenly Father for his love, that he gave his son to teach us the way to love.

My precious brothers and sisters, we are in times of tribulation and each have felt the “speeding up” of the universal clock of time. We have much to do as we walk through our trials but we have likewise much to look forward to as we grow spiritually forward into God’s blessings he has waiting for us. This time of year when we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus brings particular peace, love and joy as we remember Christ’s gift of his life for us. Take time with your families to gather them close and share your faith in God and your thankfulness for our Beloved Savior this Easter time. God bless you and I love you!

Jesus Is The Savior Of Our World

"Trying Times"

     Dearest Friends,

I appreciate all who are praying for our world and know many of you join me in surrounding our world with as much love as we can! Our prayers make a difference. I was shown this. Nonetheless, our world must change for the better or it will face a refiner’s fire. I wrote about this in 1999 when I published my book “The Ripple Effect."

We have billions of spirit brothers and sisters with whom we share this life, and we are collectively responsible for this world we live on. We all lend our energy to it. Our thoughts, words, actions, talents, and light blend to form a collective environment and experience. Our combined energy helps create or destroy the well being of each person. Therefore, each action of each individual blesses or lessens the welfare of every other. This interdependence of all things living and non-living is perhaps best understood by our native peoples—in America and elsewhere. By listening to their teachings and weaving them into our own ways, we may bring a simple and priceless harmony into our lives that is missing. Each soul is unique, but the principles of life are eternal.

We have all noticed the increase of calamity and natural disaster. In witnessing the terrible suffering on earth, some wonder just how constant God’s love is to allow such terrible things to occur.

Natural afflictions of the world come for many reasons, but we must put them all under the general heading of “Blessings.” Some afflictions come as a result of personal choice. Smoking, for example, can lead to lung cancer. Overeating can lead to diabetes or heart problems. Fear and anxiety produce their own forms of ailment. Some physical conditions occur as a result of our spiritual health. But every opposition is a gift from God and can be used to refine spiritual awareness and increase love if we choose to use them this way. The same is true for earthquakes, famine, pestilence, and other natural disasters. We knew before coming here that some trials would be very traumatic and that we might not understand them or learn all we could from them. But we volunteered for them anyway, seeking all things that might refine us, humble us, and empower us to use our divine gifts to overcome and grow beyond these adversities. We hoped and we covenanted that by enduring these trials we would return to God stronger and more like him.

However, knowing that we chose to endure tragedy, and knowing that God allows it, does not make tragedy any less painful. The pain is part of the growth process, with the greater pain often triggering the greater growth. At times the pain or the calamity can be so severe that we need the love and prayers of others to enable us to endure it. The increase of love and prayer leading to greater faith among people may be the purpose behind some disasters. Or this may be one purpose among many as multiple truths are taught to all involved. A loving God allows tragedies to occur because he loves us and knows exactly what we need and what we can endure in order to grow.

We live in troubling times. Evil seems to be reaching new depths and broader acceptance in the lives of many. But truth is also expanding in the world, surging with new light and new ideas and generating exciting opportunities and challenges. For many this is a frightening time as old orders change and new values seep in. Time is speeding up. “What is the world coming to?” is a question as old as the world but perhaps more applicable today than ever. But regardless of its condition, this precious world is ours. We chose to come to it, and we chose this period of time in which to come. Many of us were among the strong ones, ready and determined to come and bless this world in these chaotic times. And now is our chance!

Our action or lack of action will have an impact. Planet Earth possesses a spirit, a life-force all its own. In a very real way it is a living entity. Currently the earth suffers from evil and abuse heaped upon it over time. It suffers from the misuse of its energy by man, and this abuse has taken its toll. Mankind has now changed the nature of the energy within and surrounding the earth. Like a magnetic force, this energy is beginning to pull and distort the earth’s harmony, throwing natural forces off balance. If we do not return to the truths of God, seasons will continue to be altered, earthquakes will split the earth, floods will rage, disaster will follow disaster, and all this will be a direct result of our collective disregard for universal laws. Our actions magnified by billions of souls will literally change our environment, spiritually followed by physically.

As dire and unavoidable as this sounds, we must not become fatalistic. We have the power to reverse this process! As I came back from death, I was shown many catastrophes that await the earth if mankind collectively continues to break universal laws. These catastrophes are not for our punishment; they come as natural results of our choices. We determine our own destiny and will face the evil or good that we create. I was told that denying our Creator, who is God himself, would be the foremost cause of these consequences. So I was given to know that calamities need never occur if we will bring ourselves into harmony with God and the universe. We can restore the spiritual balance of our creation if we choose to.

And many are choosing to! Our world stands on the brink of a spiritual renaissance, a revival of spirituality that will sweep the earth and change it in significant ways. To effect these changes, the great Awakening has already begun. Light and knowledge have begun to flow from heaven in greater intensity. Those sensitive to it will respond and fill their lives with this light and knowledge. Evil, by its opposing nature, is rising up to challenge this Awakening. But the harder the opposition, the harder the angels and good people will work to create it. If not for evil and its polarizing effects, the Awakening in fact could not happen as quickly as it will. God has set this in motion, and it will not be stopped. Once he begins a work, his energy quickly fills it and expands until the work is finished. The world will suffer greatly through this process of rebirth, but its outcome is sure—not just because God has ordained it, but because millions of good people will exercise their free will to embrace this gift from heaven. We can fail individually, but we will not fail collectively.

Those who understand the message of God’s love must share it with courage and confidence. People not yet sure in spiritual truth will be supported and guided by those who are sure until they come into their own understanding. We can and will see our world cleansed of all evil and blanketed with a greater glory, even the glory and love of God. But we must each believe and act in that belief. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)

My precious brothers and sisters, my prayers are with you as you gather your families and loved ones to greater strength in the Lord. May his blessings pour upon you in all that you do I pray in the name of the Savior of our world, amen.

Blessings for the

New Year 2012!

There is magic in gratitude.
It frees us from worry
and competition in life.
It opens our hearts and hands
to genuine love,
ironically allowing our
hearts and hands to be filled again.

—The Ripple Effect, page 30

As we meet the New Year, let us count our blessings and begin it by renewing our divine connection to God. Through prayerfully opening our eyes to his miracles, we will see his hand in our lives. Though we may have personal struggles, we can begin the year 2012 in gratitude, thus opening heaven's gates to the blessings our Heavenly Father desires for us.

The current state of our world is cause for great concern, however, this has been ongoing for many years now. The year 2012 is merely one more added to those in which we have become keenly aware of our need for help from above. Rather than giving in to fear, we can exercise our faith in God; hold to our alignment with his Spirit that we feel in our hearts; and remember that he is in control of all things. He is our ultimate source! We are in his care and he wants us to freely turn to him for our strength, hope and love. As we "stay the course," by placing our trust in our Father in Heaven—we will walk with a firm step through every storm of our lives!

My prayers are for you, as well as for mankind and our world. I look forward to sharing more of what I learned from the other side about these troubled times very soon. However, on this new day of this new year—I am thankful for Jesus and his unconditional love for each of us! I thank God for my precious family whose love surrounded me through the holidays while I missed my beloved Joe. I'm thankful for all that I have learned through my trials and experience that have given me wisdom and better prepared me to serve God's purposes well.

The New Year is a wonderful time to re-dedicate our lives to God and commit ourselves in his service and his will. I do so with great eagerness of heart and ask for his blessings upon all. Following a vision I had of an octopus covering the world with "Embraced By The Light," I plan to launch a new media venue early this next year, but I need your help.

I need any questions that you may have, or want answers to, that I can give from my perspective. Your questions can be about whatever is in your heart. They can be regarding spirituality, the afterlife...or how to cope with loss and trials…or, what you hold dear to your heart and are looking for answers to or guidance for. Fear is growing rampant in the world. Suicide is rising because of despair and loss of hope. The vision that “Embraced By The Light” brings to people is God's unconditional love, that their lives have great meaning and there is no death. Please help me to share this message! Send your questions to me via email, Twitter or Facebook. I personally will receive them.

I am excited about this new opportunity to reach even greater numbers of people with what has helped millions already. And, 2012, looks to be a great year to do this! Thank you and God bless you in this "ripple" of love!

Walk in the Spirit of God

If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
Galatians 5:25

      My Dearest Friends,

I am often asked to share my knowledge of current events due to civil unrest, natural disasters and a falling away from God. I have hesitated to write about my knowledge of what was shown me in heaven about this. I have preferred not to focus on negativity, nor have I wanted to create fear. However, I was shown the possibility of these events for a reason, therefore, I wrote about some of them in my book, “The Awakening Heart.”

I was shown that the earth, too, had a spirit life, an energy that God gave it so that it could produce life-giving substances for our benefit. Then, as its inhabitants, we lent our own energy to that energy, changing the earth’s to match our own. I saw that the atmosphere surrounding our earth was saturated with combustible components that had threatened our lives for years and were now ready to do further destruction. I knew that this was the effect of our greed and other sins we had committed against the earth, and we would have to suffer the consequences of that. . . .

“This world belongs to you, Father,” my spirit wept. “It was placed in our care. . . . Now we have destroyed it!”

I continued to watch scene after scene in amazement, like an observer at a fatal accident. “So this is our creation,” I thought. I knew that this was never God’s will for our lives! He created us like himself and gave us gifts, special talents to develop and to use as we chose. He is the pattern that we are to follow, and his example would be the greatest respect to the earth that so richly gives of all it has. I thought back to the Savior’s final words to me: “The days of the earth are short.” I wondered if there was anything we could do before we met with this devastation.

—The Awakening Heart, pages 7-9

The other reason I have not written more about this is because I was told that it does not have to be. We can make a change, a real change! God gave us the power of prayer to change what we do not want in our lives. He gave us the free will to think, to choose, to make a difference—to learn and become co-creators with him. We can make a difference through radiating our faith in God and using our power of prayer to seek his will. God’s will, will be done—and his will is for his children to turn to him and to turn to love for one another. We can and will save our world when we choose God and higher standards for our change! The course is up to us and what the Heavenly Father will allow us to experience in order to turn mankind’s hearts around.

We are approaching the time of elections in the United States of America and as this time draws near I want to encourage you to vote, and not just vote, but rather, study, explore and choose prayerfully—seeking God’s Spirit in all choices.

“God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth” (John 4:24).

It is in the Spirit of God that we can find comfort in troubled times. It is in the Spirit of God that our steps can be guided and we can use the gift of discernment in the choices we make. As we take the time to pray, to quiet ourselves and invite the Spirit of God to be with us, we can feel his presence and connect with our own spirit within our own heart.

We do live in troubled times where much clamors for our attention. Misinformation is rampant and with a dividedness that seems to only increase. Freedoms that we took for granted decades ago are now quickly being whittled away and it also appears we are being prepared to become submissive. Submissiveness is easily recognized in our airports as we line up unclothed and submit ourselves to indignity. There is more that can be done about this, but it is alarmingly not being done. Political “correctness” is also taking precedence over our right to publicly acknowledge God and show our devotion to him. We must search our hearts to connect with our higher values, higher standards, and greater faith—with inner strength that invites God’s Spirit to make our choices, rather than heed to the whim of mankind. Then, when we are strengthened by God, we can lovingly but firmly stand up for what we believe! As we do, we will lift up others also, and “tweak” the whole toward the standards and values we have held so dear.

“Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.” Galatians 6:7-8

I am also alarmed at the complacency I often see encouraged and propagated by well-meaning, and not so well-meaning people. I hear some say that since God is absolute, that whatever happens must have been caused by him. They are forgetting that we reap the consequences of our choices and that God allows what we create to learn from, and to grow from. He does not interfere with our choices when we use our free will against common sense and his higher will. Therefore, my beloved friends, let's not be complacent, but let us become proactive and use our discernment to make right choices.

“And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.” Galatians 6:9

We are men and women of faith, and faith is not complacent! We must take action to save our world and as we exercise our faith by taking action, we are following our Father in Heaven's will. Then, as we do our part by being responsible for what he has given us, we can then have faith that all is in his loving hands.

      Heavenly Father,

I pray for healing of our political divisions and for all the leaders in the world. May you heal our economy and help those who are working on solutions to solve our many problems. I pray for families to be strengthened and to feel their eternal bonds that they might be of greater support to one another. I pray for citizens of all nations to let their voices be heard and for their leaders to hear their voices and listen. I pray for the healing of Mother Earth, that her spirit might be calmed by our show of love and appreciation for all that she blesses us with--the oil, the water, the plant and animals life and all materials that provide us with food and shelter. I pray for us all to expand our ability to love and to draw closer to you, and that we might walk in righteousness so that you can bless us with the abundance of your Spirit. In the name of your precious son Jesus Christ, who walked this earth to show us love, appreciation and acknowledgement of you, amen.

      My Dearest Friends,

During this time of celebration with family and loved ones, let's not forget the sacrifice of those who contributed toward our lives today. May we each take time to unite our hearts in prayers of thankfulness for our many blessings.

     Father in Heaven,

Thank you for this land of abundance and beauty. Thank you for this great nation founded on principles of righteousness. Many have fought and lost their lives that we might enjoy freedom today, their sacrifices and those of their families are not forgotten. Thank you for blessing us with forefathers who were determined and dedicated their lives to what they believed, that future generations might be blessed. Bless those men and women who give service in our armed forces today and their families to do well and thrive.

Many have forgotten why America is free and are in a quandary as to the direction of this great nation. Place your Spirit upon our leadership and touch their hearts with the solutions that will end all strife and suffering. Bless the world leaders to be guided by your hand to make right choices that will enable your blessings to be poured upon all your children.

Father, bless all of us with greater thankfulness for this blessed land and to do our part in the choices we make. Open our eyes to your hand in our lives that we might live in love and in gratitude for your many blessings. As we celebrate the birth of the United States of America, may we never forget that we are one nation under your divine guidance!      Heavenly Father, may we serve you and your purposes well. I pray in the name of our Savior Jesus Christ, amen.

     My Dearest Friends,

My love and prayers are with you on Father's Day, and throughout your mission as a parent.

Last month I wrote about the importance of women in our homes, that mothers are in a most advantageous position to make a sacred difference in the lives of their families. This month, I want to express my appreciation for men—Fathers, Husbands, Brothers and Grandfathers—whose roles are also vital to their families. Men, like women, were divinely created by our Creator, God, to serve specific roles here on earth. Men are designed to be protectors and providers and specifically given a greater attunement to the physical, while women are more attuned to what is spiritual. Women are more likely to say, "I feel," while men are more likely to say, "I see." Therefore it is given that women have a greater sense of spiritual intuition than men were given.

In God's perfect wisdom, and to serve his purposes, he blessed men with increased strength in their physicality, and gave them emotional strength to endure the heavy responsibility of providing the physical needs for their precious families. I have to wonder how heavily that responsibility must weigh upon a man’s shoulders while in care of his wife and little ones! Again, in God's perfect wisdom, he created women to walk along side of man. As they walk together, joined in loving support of each other, they create a solid foundation on which their children grow. This is God's perfect plan.

You can see how men and women’s roles compliment each other, are ideal balance and the perfect design of our loving Heavenly Father. "Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;" (Ephesians 5:25) Yet in our troubled times these roles have fallen out of balance as women find themselves taking on the role of provider out of need, men becoming distracted from their families and the loving example of mother and father is missing. When this happens, the entire family is thrown out of balance. With both parents out of the home, the children are often left with others, or worse, left alone to parent themselves without feelings of love from either parent or family unit.

This is an unfortunate result of our times that is causing harm to families—especially to children, and it will take the determination of both parents to return to faith in God, in order for families to be brought back to the balance that God intended for them. With the recent loss of my husband and my “rock,” Joe…I felt gratitude for the strength of family bonds in a way I have never experienced before. Through this most painful time, we had the foundation of a strong family unit, devoted to God, that we could draw from and lean upon to carry us through our loss. I pray for all families to have such bonds of love, of devotion to one another, of compassion and understanding with that firm foundation in God—to carry each through every storm!

I asked my son Jeff, what I might say to you fathers that would encourage you, empower you and perhaps help you to fill the giant shoes that you wear. Your appointed role is so vital to your family. I found Jeff was taught well by his father. With his permission I want to share his "notes" with you.

Note for Fathers

by Jeff Eadie

A Fathers main role over the years has traditionally been as a provider and tasked to provide a roof over the heads of the family, put clothes on their backs, and fill the cupboards with food, etc. And although this is a very important and necessary function in a family unit, sometimes this focus on a father's primary role can cause ill effects on children if a man takes this role too far—and makes it his sole purpose.

I understand the need for a father to be a good provider, this is important, but the single most important thing a father can impart to a child is love—love for their siblings, love for their parents and extended family, love for their friends and neighbors, and even love for those they do not know. Especially when raising a son, a father must let him know its okay to be loving and express emotion. And always, a father must help provide a foundation for a child to learn about and love Jesus Christ. For without the teachings of love, the size of the home a child grew up in, the style of a car, the extravagant vacations, the fancy college they attended will mean nothing of great importance and perhaps even leave an emptiness inside which that a child will carry on into adulthood, and then pass on to their own children. Now I am not saying that a mother cannot fulfill the role as the love and care giver, but when reinforced by the power of a strong father, the blessing received by a child is incredible, and will help them in so many ways as they grow up.

A father should put down his pen, his computer, his newspaper...and pick-up a glove, a ball or a bike. The power of personal attention between a father and their child far outweighs any earthly tangible item a father can provide. An hour spent with your child will pay countless dividends down the road, providing the child with memories that will forever be embedded within his soul.

At the end of a man's life, and as he looks at his life's accomplishments, it's never the job promotion he wished for that he didn't get, or the car he didn't buy, or the size of the home he provided for his family, but rather the quality of time he spent with his loved ones that will truly define him and either bring him comfort or make him pause. I know this to be true, and I implore all fathers to think about this as they go about their daily lives...if they were to pass away tomorrow, would they be satisfied with the time they spent with their family?

     Father in Heaven,

Thank you for your divine wisdom in the creation of men. Bless them in their lives as fathers, grandfathers, husbands and brothers, that they may be a blessing on earth to their families and loved ones. Bless them with resolve to strengthen their families as they seek divine guidance from you. May they become understanding of their perfect role in life and prayerfully renew their covenants with you to acquire your attributes of loyalty, honor, and righteous strength.

Then as godly men, bless them as they manifest your attributes and strive to become loving husbands to their wives and honorable examples for their children. Father, bless them with prosperity, with means to provide for their families. Direct them to jobs and secure their financial needs. Strengthen them in their times of discouragement when they are challenged. Honor their prayers for your guidance and open doors for their success. Help them to see that life is meaningful for their eternal growth—that it is how they face the journey between here and their return to you that will bless them now and in their eternal lives beyond. I humbly pray this in the precious name of Jesus Christ, amen.

My eternal brothers, as fathers, resolve to strengthen your families by seeking the ultimate guidance of our Heavenly Father. He is waiting to hear from you! You are more loved by him than you can possibly know.

The Genetic Coding of Our Mortal Bodies

     My spirit brothers and sisters,

We each are uniquely encoded, perfectly prepared, and finely tuned to perform our purposes and mission on earth—to do our part—all of us, in whatever country God placed us by his design. The men who created the Declaration of Independance were not perfect. They each had their weaknesses--yet they prayed and sought God's will and when brought together with this pure intent they became a vessel that God could use.

"We were aware of the genetic coding of mortal bodies and the particular physical features we would have. We wanted and needed these. We understood that memories would be contained in the cells of our new bodies. This was an idea that was completely new to me. I learned that all thoughts and experiences in our lives are recorded in our subconscious minds. They are also recorded in our cells, so that, not only is each cell imprinted with genetic coding, it is also imprinted with every experience we have ever had. Further, I understood that these memories are passed down through the genetic coding to our children. These memories then account for many of the passed on traits in families, such as addictive tendencies, fears, strengths, and so on."

I Follow A Famous Father

His honor is mine to wear;
He gave me a name that was free from shame,
A name he was proud to bear.
He lived in the morning sunlight,
And marched in the ranks of right.
He was always true to the best he knew
And the shield that he wore was bright.

I follow a famous father,
And never a day goes by
But I feel that he looks down to me
To carry his standard high.
He stood to the sternest trials
As only a brave man can;
Though the way be long, I must never wrong
The name of so good a man.

I follow a famous father,
Not known to the printed page,
Nor written down in the world's renown
As a prince of his little age.
But never a stain attached to him
And never he stooped to shame;
He was bold and brave and to me he gave
The pride of an honest name.

I follow a famous father,
And him I must keep in mind;
Though his form is gone, I must carry on
The name that he left behind.
It was mine on the day he gave it,
It shone as a monarch's crown,
And as fair to see as it came to me
It must be when I pass it down.

      My Dearest Friends,

I wish all mothers a Happy Mother’s Day!

In my Tribute to Mothers I share my firm belief that mothers are in the most advantageous position to make a sacred difference in the lives of their children. Children hunger for the love they once experienced while in heaven, and they look to their mothers for that love and we are blessed to give them what they need. Love is the most vital emotion for them and when given in abundance they thrive to grow into emotionally sound adults.

As co-creators with God, our precious world can also use our “Mother’s Prayers” today. When I was in heaven, I was told that, “These [mother: as in inspiration, caregiver and nurturer] are the purest prayers because of their intense desire and, at times, sense of desperation. A mother has the ability to give her heart to her children and to implore mightily before God for them.” (Please read Embraced By The Light, page 104)

As women, when in tuned to God, we tend to turn more quickly to him. We are perfectly designed by God for this purpose. Let us use our strength and turn to God in prayer for our husbands, children and for our world. Prayer is the greatest tool we have been given, and when we add the desires of our hearts with our love—it is the greatest force in this world. Our Heavenly Father promised us that he would not intervene in our mortal lives unless we ask for his help. And we can invite his help as as we pray for our concerns and pray for our loved ones. I love the scripture “Pray for one another that ye may be healed…” (James 5:16)

Women, we are amazingly close to our Father in Heaven and perfectly created by him. We can help bless our world when we strengthen the eternal bonds within our own families. We can also strengthen our world by sending out ripples of Christ-like energy and love to all. Women; whether you are a mother of children or not, you were created and placed in the world as healers and nurturers, please join me in prayer for our youth, our families and our world.

Dearest Heavenly Father, Thank you for your wisdom and love and for blessing us with your presence when we come to you in prayer. Bless and strengthen each mother on earth, guide her in wisdom to give the best to her family that her children might honor her and call her blessed. May we each respect our honored place with you and feel our eternal bonds of love for one another in a greater way. Bless our children with greater understanding, love and trust that their hearts might turn to their parents for guidance just as you would lovingly have us turn to you. Father, guide us in all that we do. I pray in the precious name of Jesus, amen.

He Lives

Listen to Sandi Patty sing“They Could Not” and read the lyrics that are so precious to me and will touch your heart and witness to you that the Savior Lives! Then listen to my own witness of the Savior Jesus Christ and know that he loves each of us unconditionally as he loved me.

They Could Not

by Sandi Patty

They looked at Him and
Saw a simple man
A carpenter with healing in His hands
They saw Him calm a sea and
Heal a dying man
They saw but could they really understand

They could not, They could not.
Though they tried, they could not
He was just a simple carpenter but with
healing in His hands
But could they really understand,
they could not

They listened to the teaching that they heard
They wondered at the mystery of His word
They wondered what He meant,
about a Father's plan
They heard but could they really understand

They could not,
They could not
Though they tried,
they could not
They listened
to the teaching
About a Father's plan
But could they really understand,
They could not

So finally upon
a rugged cross
They killed the man
Who would not
suffer loss
And when at last
they took
What willingly
He gave
He died,
but could they keep
Him in the grave

They could not, They could not
Praise God, they could not
And when at last they took from Him what willingly He gave
Could they keep Him in the grave,
Could they keep Him in the grave,
Could they keep Him in the grave...

They could not, They could not
Praise God, they could not
And when at last they took from Him what willingly He gave
Could they keep Him in the grave, could they keep Him in the grave,
Could they keep Him in the grave, They could not!

Embraced By The Light

Betty reads from Embraced By The Light, pages 40-53
(Music from Embraced By The Light - The Musical Journey)

“I saw a pinpoint of light in the distance. The black mass around me began to take on more the shape of a tunnel, and I felt myself traveling through it at an even greater speed, rushing toward the light. I was instinctively attracted to it, although again, I felt that others might not be. As I approached it, I noticed the figure of a man standing in it, with the light radiating all around him. As I got closer the light became brilliant—brilliant beyond any description, far more brilliant than the sun—and I knew that no earthly eyes in their natural state could look upon this light without being destroyed. Only spiritual eyes could endure it—and appreciate it. As I drew closer I began to stand upright.

“I saw that the light immediately around him was golden, as if his whole body had a golden halo around it, and I could see that the golden halo burst out from around him and spread into a brilliant, magnificent whiteness that extended out for some distance. I felt his light blending into mine, literally, and I felt my light being drawn to his. It was as if there were two lamps in the room, both shining, their light merging together. It’s hard to tell where one light ends and the other begins; they just become one light. Although his light was much brighter than my own, I was aware that my light, too, illuminated us. And as our lights merged, I felt as if I had stepped into his countenance, and I felt an utter explosion of love.

“It was the most unconditional love I have ever felt, and as I saw his arms open to receive me I went to him and received his complete embrace and said over and over, “I'm home, I'm home. I'm finally home.” I felt his enormous spirit and knew that I had always been a part of him, that in reality I had never been away from him. And I knew that I was worthy to be with him, to embrace him. I knew that he was aware of all my sins and faults, but that they didn't matter right now. He just wanted to hold me and share his love with me, and I wanted to share mine with him.

“There was no questioning who he was. I knew that he was my Savior, and friend, and God. He was Jesus Christ, who had always loved me, even when I thought he hated me. He was life itself, love itself, and his love gave me a fullness of joy, even to overflowing. I knew that I had known him from the beginning, from long before my earth life, because my spirit remembered him . . .

“I seemed to melt with joy as I was held in his arms and comforted—home at last. I would give all in my power, all that I ever was, to be filled with that love again—to be embraced in the arms of his eternal light.”

Blessings & Gratitude
Amidst Our Trials

My Dearest Friends,

As we approach the year 2012, some fall prey to the many rumors and frightening doctrines that create fear and anxiety. Yes, we do live in changing times, those that have been prophesied as troubled times, and some say perhaps even the end of times. My belief is that while life is changing, it will not end. God will not allow for the total destruction of the world he so loves, and created. But change it must, and for our own good.

Life is hurting many with the current shift in our economy and change in our moral standards. And like the growing pains a child might feel before reaching puberty, we too, must go through the pain and agony of growth to evolve to greater heights and we can only do that through every trial and challenge brought before us to face. Life, offers opportunities meant to increase spiritual growth. And what challenges us, no matter how great, or small, can only bring us to greater understanding that will strengthen us and help us to overcome weaknesses. The effects generated from all experiences are exhibited in our individual lives, in our communities and in our nations.Through pain and suffering we will learn where to make every appropriate change.

My love and prayers are with you as you face your life trials, heartaches and grief. Suffer them, we must; endure them, we must; and triumphant over them, we must. We can do this if we walk in the knowledge taught us by Christ.

During his lifetime, and even now, Jesus’ kindness is often mistaken as weakness. While he was kind and humble, he was neither a weak or fearful man. Jesus was a man of gentle strength. Brought to task, he got the job done. He was a man balanced in both the things of the physical and spiritual. He was a man of utmost strength.

It stands to reason that if we are to follow after him, we must stand-up for what we believe in and not shrink from what is right. We can only do good if we do something about our good intentions. This is not the time to become fearful of life or of living, but it is the time to stand strong in your faith and show strength through your beliefs.

When I am asked what I think about the year 2012 and where I plan to be on December 21st, my mind immediately takes me to what will be the 20 year anniversary of the publishing of "Embraced By The Light," and I hope to be celebrating it! IF you would like to join with me, let’s make it a date!

Honoring the Cycle of Life

Follow this link to see how the
imbalances in our lives effect
our Cycle of Life

My Dearest Friends,

An urgent prayer request from Chief Arvol Looking Horse “Keeper of the Sacred White Buffalo Calf Pipe of the Lakota, Dakota, Nakota Nation of the Sioux” regarding the Gulf Coast Oil Spill. My concerns join his in the importance of united world prayer for this frightening situation. I ask that your prayers join ours.

Chief Arvol Looking Horse’s Concerns and Prayer

My Relatives,

Time has come to speak to the hearts of our Nations and their Leaders. I ask you this from the bottom of my heart, to come together from the Spirit of your Nations in prayer.

We, from the heart of Turtle Island, have a great message for the World; we are guided to speak from all the White Animals showing their sacred color, which have been signs for us to pray for the sacred life of all things. As I am sending this message to you, many Animal Nations are being threatened, those that swim, those that crawl, those that fly, and the plant Nations, eventually all will be affected from the oil disaster in the Gulf.

The dangers we are faced with at this time are not of spirit. The catastrophe that has happened with the oil spill which looks like the bleeding of Grandmother Earth, is made by human mistakes, mistakes that we cannot afford to continue to make.

I asked, as Spiritual Leaders, that we join together, united in prayer with the whole of our Global Communities. My concern is these serious issues will continue to worsen, as a domino effect that our Ancestors have warned us of in their Prophecies.

I know in my heart there are millions of people that feel our united prayers for the sake of our Grandmother Earth are long overdue. I believe we as Spiritual people must gather ourselves and focus our thoughts and prayers to allow the healing of the many wounds that have been inflicted on the Earth. As we honor the Cycle of Life, let us call for Prayer circles globally to assist in healing Grandmother Earth (our Unc'I Maka).

We ask for prayers that the oil spill, this bleeding, will stop. That the winds stay calm to assist in the work. Pray for the people to be guided in repairing this mistake, and that we may also seek to live in harmony, as we make the choice to change the destructive path we are on.

As we pray, we will fully understand that we are all connected. And that what we create can have lasting effects on all life.

So let us unite spiritually, All Nations, All Faiths, One Prayer. Along with this immediate effort, I also ask to please remember June 21st, World Peace and Prayer Day/Honoring Sacred Sites day. Whether it is a natural site, a temple, a church, a synagogue or just your own sacred space, let us make a prayer for all life, for good decision making by our Nations, for our children's future and well-being, and the generations to come.

(Adding my prayer to Chief Looking Horse’s prayer)

Heavenly Father,

I stand in this Circle of Prayer with Chief Arvol Looking Horse and with all Spiritual Leaders and Prayer Warriors to hold this dire situation up to you for your intervention. Spare us the domino effect that our Ancestors have warned us of in their Prophecies. Enlighten our Government Leaders to look beyond the greed of politics and money and see what damage is being done to our world and its people.

Bless the millions of people united in prayer for this cause. May we always honor the Cycle of Life, and may we shamelessly call for global Prayer Circles to assist in the healing of our Grandmother Earth!

May we unite our spirits with all Nations, all Faiths in One Prayer. May we also remember June 21st, which was set aside by Chief Looking Horse for "World Peace and Prayer Day/Honoring Sacred Sites day." Bless us to pray for all life and for our children's futures and well-being for all generations to come.

In the Sacred name of Jesus, I pray, Amen.

My beloved Friends, may we unite to increase our prayers and become wise and thankful stewards of our precious world!

The Act of Forgiveness

My Dearest Friends,

When we are hurt by those we love and trust, whether their acts or opinions are true or false, can be lasting and do great harm. Often children are subjected to lies, abuse, betrayal and rejection that set firm a foundation of pain almost too difficult to overcome––and to forgive. Buried deep, unreleased pain triggers anger, shame and guilt, and always feelings of betrayal and rejection. Tender spirits, especially later in life, can become ill from various diseases. Doctors of a famed Clinic have warned, "When you don't practice forgiveness, you may be the one who pays most dearly!" Release of pain, especially when hidden or buried, is necessary to uncover in order to heal a conflicted spirit and the brokenness of heart. These are destroyers of the mind, body and soul.

Acknowledging a hurt and a need to forgive, either yourself or others, is a step towards healing the mutation of soul. Understanding why someone would hurt you, or why you made wrong choices, can create the desire and the spirit to forgive. It is always your choice to find understanding and to give forgiveness, or to hold onto anger and thoughts of revenge.

Without forgiveness, we pay a price over and over again. We bring that anger and bitterness into every relationship and new experience, often as a replay of events or hurt of the past—wanting to understand the previous hurt—our thoughts and imagination dwell on every conceivable aspect surrounding the unforgivable offense or offender. Over time the events may lose their clarity, but because we have fallen into a wallowing of self-agony—whether remorseful self-recrimination or vengeful lack of goodwill—continuance seems acceptable and even predictable. Self pity encourages self defense, which then encourages ill health through anxiety and depression. One can then become consumed in self contempt that automatically leads to self punishment. Holding onto feelings of revenge and anger, one’s perception changes to see and to create the worst about people and their every motive. Becoming hooked on self indulgence and selfishness, the wounded soul sinks deeper into despair and disease. Angry outbursts come at the smallest perceived “wrong” doing of another. Soon despair causes feelings that one is always wronged or misunderstood. Anxiety, depression, alcohol or drugs then will numb the soul from finding help through the discovery that feelings buried alive never die.

There is always hope when there is truth and love, the spirit rejoices and rebounds in its freshness. And there is freshness in forgiveness—a letting go of things you cannot change but can now take charge of through your enlightenment. And when this happens, the physical mind and body can heal!

Recent studies show the effects of forgiveness. The Evidence indicates that when we cannot, or do not, forgive; the results are long-term health problems. In contrast, the positive effects of genuine forgiveness, release chemicals that help our bodies to heal. As a counselor and therapist, I saw that when a client truly forgave, there was an instant change in their mind, body and soul. These sudden changes are measurable. Forgiveness lowers blood pressure, heart rate, stress, feelings of unworthiness, a need for substance abuse and inspires healthier relationships! Without a doubt, I know that practicing forgiveness offers benefits far too numerous to mention.

Forgiving isn't the same as forgetting. The offense may always remain a part of life as a lesson to either learn from or a place to grow from. But to forgive self or others, will rid you of anger and give focus to the positive side of your life. Forgiving self or others does not mean that you are in denial of who is responsible. Nor, does it minimize or justify the wrong. However, you can refuse to hold ill will and forgive without excusing the act just as you can “hate the sin, but not the sinner.”

A state of forgiveness can be reached when there is a desire and a commitment to change. One step at a time and you can begin at any time! As forgiveness is accepted by your spirit and offered to others, effective change begins immediately. Learning to deflect reactions to hurtful stimulus and replace it with love and a forgiving heart––is Christ-like and the example he humbly set for us to follow. Thus, the scripture: “do unto others as you would have done unto yourself.”

When we choose to forgive any offense or offender, we remove our role as a victim and deny any control over our lives. Understanding and compassion can be found in every case of wrong doing because behind every abuse, there is another victim struggling. There is a reward in embracing forgiveness. We can learn to empathize, sympathize and embrace peace––peace within you and peace you pass along—all will lead to physical, emotional and spiritual health and well-being.

My beloved friends, let us make today a new day by forgiving ourselves and others. Forgiveness is not a weakness, it is not being a doormat for others. It is a strength! We can take charge of our own lives while allowing the same to others.

“ Forgiveness of self is where all forgiveness starts. If I am unable to forgive myself, it is impossible for me to truly forgive others. And I must forgive others. What I give out is what I receive. If I want forgiveness, I have to give forgiveness.” —Embraced By The Light, page 116

To Love and Be Loved

When in his presence, his love surrounding me, I felt his enormous spirit and will never forget the sweetness of his voice. His message still rings in my ears and is ever so clear: "Above all else, love one another..."

“Love one another,” I thought. “Can it be that simple?” I wondered. Loving whomever and whatever was easy within the presence of Jesus where I felt love everywhere! Heaven holds nothing but love, God is love, Jesus is love, the ability to love was no challenge at all.

Back on earth, I found loving everyone is not so simple—not so easy! The love I had for everyone and felt back from them, was based upon conditions that made me feel vulnerable. Loving with all your heart can hurt, and hurt deeply. During a lifetime, loved ones are lost to death, to illness, and even to others when love wanes and partners whom committed to unending love find somebody new to love.

I saw that—to love and to be loved—is one of the strongest driving forces within mankind. Either love or the lack of love compels and governs at nearly every turn. Almost every expression, every thought and deed, seek love and acceptance of that love. We are challenged by this never ending need and are often brought to despair because of it.

A need to find love can take us on a journey to discover it in all the wrong places. How many songs are written about those places and people so wrong for us? Yet, we are compelled by the internal need and drive to discover and to experience love, an emotion that almost overwhelms to keep seeking.

I eventually learned how it is that we are to learn to love above all else: God is pure love! He is the ultimate of love and he desires us to grow to become as he is. Learning to love is a selfless act that comes with self-giving, and is the ultimate sacrifice of one’s own being. While it is risky business for some, it is our ultimate goal---our greatest challenge on earth--- and what we came here to learn.

As God’s creation, our spirits loved freely and unconditionally when with him. In the presence of God, love comes easily because we draw our ability to love from him. For higher growth, God sent us to earth to acquire this attribute for ourselves. To become beings of greater love—our understanding of love had to internalize–to become a part of our soul. This can only happen through experience. On Earth, what love we gain—is tested to the nth degree! By the time we think we have learned it all, something develops to further our testing—and the tests are almost always through painful trials. As we learn what true love is not, we will learn what pure love is.

To love, in the purest way, we must first recognize and develop the love already within us. Every fiber of our soul was created by God to love and to generate more love that we might become pure love; the purest energy that both creates and heals. Through mistakes and through misuse of love we will come to learn what is pure about love. We can work through our physicality bound by ego—that selfish pursuit of physical love—and face even the great challenges brought by those in quest to find love for themselves when abusing that of others. Even those whom we love the most and become hurt by can bring our greatest growth.

What a blessing to know that within you lies the purest of love in embryo, that, it is without beginning or end. Uncover it by opening to love’s possibility and trusting its ultimate purpose. Soon, you will feel its completeness and discover that love simply just "is."

My love and prayers are with all, especially as you meet your trials and challenges— stay the course our goal is worth it! God works in mysterious ways, he gives us a taste of his purest love and blessings, then sees what happens to our faith when it is challenged.
